Imperial templar build advice for 1.7

Hey pc players after some build advice for the coming update 7 to console, I've got an imperial stamplar, that I've recently respecced to magika (I thought if I didn't like it I can switch back after update)

I've heard magika templars are doing well, so I thought I'd give it a try, I'm just trying to get a few basic build ideas.

Currently I'm using

7/7 heavy (don't want light) whitestrakes

Imperial race all attributes into magika

Bar 1, sword and shield, defensive tanking/healing

Pierce armor
Heroic slash
Puncturing sweep
Rushed ceremony
Healing ritual
Ultimate remembrance

Bar 2, 2 hander, dps

Critical rush
Wrecking blow
Rally
Dark flare (for something ranged)
Javelin blinding
Ultimate empowering sweep

It just doesn't feel that strong atm, pve yeah I can sit and spam puncturing sweep and regen any damage I take, but in pvp it feels a bit weak, wrecking blow does ok, but none of my class abilities seem to hit hard enough, not sure if I would be better off going to stamplar.

I suspect your stamplar is in medium. Put this one in at least 5 light for the spell crit and penetration and your sweep will do more dmg.
Also noticed you use alot of stamina abilities, WB eg, these won't do alot of dmg since you are specced for magica. Use puncturing sweep and radiant oppression for dmg and you'll be fine.

Remember to sta k spellpower, wich is harder to do then weapondmg. Especialy on temp with the balanced warrior passive.

No stamplar was always heavy armor, really don't like not using heavy tbh, my other characters that use light and medium armors feel naked in comparison.
