2.1 writs & hierlings questions

In 2.1, which writs do folks think are useful and which are a waste/sucker bet?
In 2.1, which hirelings seem most useful?

I will add that it feels a little moot, since the new crafted sets are so weak compared to the new dropped/bought sets. It seems crafting is spiraling downward. I doubt many/any end game set ups will use crafted sets.

I find all hireling are worth it, free items is free money. Also ranked to 10 you get some of the VR15/16 mats each day.

Writs I would personally all are worth it but Enchanting and Alchemy seem to be the weakest as you're betting on just a Kuta or Map, no other rare drops.

The rest now tend to have items selling for around 20k (this will drop).

I do blacksmith/tailor/carpenter writs on two chars for the glass fragments - selling them is a nice chunk of money right now.
I do provisioner writs religiously on three chars, still hoping to see V15 recipes. Also for the purple ingredients.

I have one enchanter hireling (mainly because that is a level 13 twink that has enough skillpoints for it), not worth the hassle of logging in, tbh.

I have three provisioner hirelings, also for purple ingredients and to keep my general ingredient stash topped up.

I have one set of max level blcksmith/tailor/carpenter hirelings and their contribution to the mat grind is small but not insignificant. I need to equip 4 chars, takes ages to grind those mats. I'm actually looking to free up the skill points to have a second max level crafter with those three hirelings.

I used to do alchemy writs almost similarly dedicated as provisioner, but stopped a while ago. I currently just use up my old pots (the V5 ones) of which I have so many stacks that I'm currently not bothering to cook up the higher level stuff. In general, Alchemy writs seemed to drop the surveys better than any other writ and you'd generally walk away with a net gain in stuffs. Don't see a reason this should have changed.

Only had one piece of v15/16 crafting material from many hireling mails so far, which is disappointing, but hirelings are great.

Equipment writs use a lot of mats and only do them if I have spare mats, rewards can be good and the motif fragments seem to be dropping a lot.

Alchemy and provisioning writs are easy to do because when I craft the items required I get 3 spare (they stack so I usually keep a few in my crafters inventory and it's basically writ board then hand in writ).

I've had no v15 recipes from provisioning writs so doubt they are dropping from them, making provisioning writs my least useful writs to do (I was lucky with ambrosia fragments to begin with and got 6/7 quite quickly, buying the 7th fragment which is yet to drop from a writ, but they don't seem to drop as often now).

    Quests :

Cooking is free money, do it
Alchemy is ~good, very good if you got a treasure map
Enchanting is ~ average but very good if you got map and luck

Woodworking, Smithing and Tailoring are ~good, very good if you got a yellow tremp (happens often now), and very good if you got a treasure map. consider having 1 nirncrux / 5 maps too.

    So, do them all.

    Hirelings :

Wood/Smith/Tailor are average : but often you got a v15item. take it if you won't do IC and are max level. there a very few yellow tremps, but good rate of purples ones, can be good.

cooking : main contribution of purple ingredients. very useful if need of tri stats food.

enchanting : actually not very interesting, only tier 9 potency, few essence (and not the new one for now), and often ta, jejota, denata.

I'm not sure where you got the opinion that the new crafted sets are weak. The armor master set is being incorporated into many tanking and PvP builds.

This is great info to hear, I had pretty much only been doing the high level provisioner writs (for the possibility of a fragment - and the recipies are pretty good), and an occasional enchanter (I seem to have good luck with getting maps).

Maybe I'll try a hireling and writ (at least one) on all the crafts now and see what's up.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

I get an extreme amount of Kuta from enchanting and it and Alechemy don't forget are also the *cheapest* and quickest writs to complete. You're typically get all the mats you need from hirelings and I'm easily get 1 Kuta every 3 enchanting writs. My level 9 dragonknight made 5 Kuta in 1 day last week. 1 From the writ and 4 Kuta from the Survey. (2 double kuta aspects).

Right now Woodworking is the most expensive writ to complete with the least reward since Rosin is the cheapest upgrade mat (but I still do this daily for the chance at the glass fragment).
