I've spent the last half hour trying to get into "The Ba$tard's Tomb" (edit -- spelling error intentional to get around stupid censoring) in Eastmarch. I'm running one of my old toons and going back completing missed quests while I try to level up his skills for a new roll as a tanking sorcerer. So far he's actually doing quite well. 5/2 light/heavy armor, sword & board, and he can roll thru VR content pretty easily. And I haven't even gotten all the passives and skills I want leveled up.
Anyways, back to the problem. Yeah, those loo-o-o-o-oong load screens that sometimes turn into 10 minutes and "eff it, kill the game and try reloading it" screens. I'm on my third try now.. Half an hour completely wasted from a major bug in this game.
And about these bugs, is anyone at ZOS going even to acknowledge there are major stability issues with this update? I updated my drivers. I've disabled and uninstalled all my addons and I still have these horrible waits, frame rates going to hell, and random weirdness. This update was *NOT* ready for prime time. I know they made a deal with the PvP community to release it on Aug 31 but it wasn't ready, not by a long shot.
So far all I've seen is one admission from one dev that the mundus stone wipe wasn't intentional.
But they've blamed everything from addons, to drivers, to I don't know -- the phases of the moon, for the hangs, frame rate debacle. Everything but the core game. And that's what worries me. If they can't even admit these problems exist how can we expect them to deal with them? At some point somebody with some authority at ZOS should fess up and admit they dropped an unstable, buggy release on this community only to keep an arbitrary deadline. Should. But I doubt they'll be that upfront about it.
Update: After 40 minutes of waiting and restarting the game I finally got into the dungeon... and cleared it in under 20 minutes. This waste of time is similar to a fiasco I had yesterday trying to run Thizzrini Arena in Reaper's March. I can now easily spend twice as much time *WAITING* to play the game as actually playing it. If I'm only going to get to play this game 1/3rd of the time I should only have to pay 1/3rd as much for a subscription, right? So ZOS, when are you going to refund me $10 for September? Or do you think you'll have this rolling disaster fixed before October?
