Lorebook bug and quest tracker issue

Multiple books in the open map are now giving the "Lorebook Discovered" message when read, even though they aren't the glowing purple lorebooks, and they give no Mage's Guild points. This makes things confusing.



And seriously, why did this have to get so giant



It covers up other important trackers and waypoints. Please reduce it to the size it was before.

My giant quest marker gets stuck until I reload the UI.

Did you finish the final mages guild quest? if you did then ALL reading materials will be added to your lore library hence the message.

not sure about your compas though

I'm getting both things the OP describes randomly. Though I haven't had my compass glitch out today at all, just yesterday very frequently. Lorebook thing persists, though.

Is your Spoiler message the reason for the lore book issue? If so, why did it not happen before the update? I finished the mages guild quests a long time ago and stopped by every book shelf but never had a message about discovered lore books.

I finished the Mage's Guild quest a very long time ago. You still get the lorebook message after you complete the quest when you discover the purple books, and that is how you increase your Mage's Guild skill line. What is new since the update is other books you find on the open map (I'm not sure about bookshelves but all of the yellow books lying around that you can read) triggering the message despite the fact that they aren't lorebooks at all and do not advance the skill line.

I've had some books on bookshelves trigger the erroneous Lore Book message & sound. I think this happens when they are skill books.

this happens after you finish the mages questline it is a part if that new "perk"you get, all reading materials get added to your lore library.

This only works with new books/letters that you read, any book you read before will not be re-added and not trigger the message. and yes this will occur with yellow books and random letters on the field as well.

This only works with new books/letters that you read, any book you read before will not be re-added and not trigger the message. and yes this will occur with yellow books and random letters on the field as well.

I finished the mage quest line weeks ago and this never happened until the update, and I was reading new books in new zones. Now it happens with every book I read. Before the update, the only time I ever got the lorebook message was from purple books.

It's different for me, at least. And several people in my guilds have reported it is new to them too.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. These are really annoying bugs. Or are they even considered "features"??
