Hm... I don't quite see how it'd be amusing to read other people's complaints, and or hear of another person's hardships. If anything, it'd be eye-opening, and something to take note of if I were apart of ZOS' staff. But amusing? N'ah. Granted, I'm not 1 of those individuals who gains pleasure from the negativity of others. >_>

neither i, but seeing as were "beta testing" this for them, they if anything should read up,be prepared, and be a bit more light-hearted. with something like lag issues, theyll know for sure its ZOS causing it

The sad thing is, IF console players start leaving the game because of technical issues and/or nerfing... this game is done. They are so far in the hole right now, financially, not only because of how much the game cost to make but also because of the extra year just to get the console edition ready for launch... they seriously cannot afford to lose a large amount of players and still expect to be financially viable.

Maybe it will take them hitting rock bottom before they realize this

I think in many cases, the EGOS of those in charge come into play when making decisions- I've seen this not only in the gaming world, but in most other businesses as well. In regards to MMOs, the problem is that when initially creating the game, there was a vision for the game... but seldom do these visions meet reality... unfortunately, many developers will stick rigidly to this vision because that is what THEY want, reality be damned.

The thing is, what ESO developers had envisioned for this game long ago is not meeting the reality of its player-based. But instead of realizing that, and changing the original vision to match their players, they are trying to force players to follow their vision. This has gone wrong in SO MANY other MMOs that it's not funny- does no one ever learn from history?

I saw this in DCUO... the Creative Director stated that the game was envisioned as being group-content with glorious hardy leagues... and regardless of reality, that is how he tried to keep the game focused... even going so far as to label solo players as simple "anomalies". Then they came out with a 'group only' DLC and needless to say, many players left, including myself... shortly thereafter, they started including solo content with each DLC. Go figure.

Unfortunately, if ESO hits rock bottom, I fear they will never recover; I can't imagine Bethesda continuing to put money into ESO if it becomes just a money pit.

I'm fairly sure not only are their restrictions as far as going through Sony and MS for the patches , it also costs Zenimax money each time as they must go through their servers to do it.

So unless they nail it perfect , ha ha , ha ,,,ha ,ha , they will stay fubar'd for quite a while.

there hasn't been a cost associated to certification for either console for years now.

in fact i don;'t think sony ever charged for it and MS stopped charging in like, 2012.

things do have to go through a certification but that only takes a week at the most unless it fails (which it rarely does)

annnd server hotfixes can be made instantly.

I'd love it if they fixed the actual UI on console, if Zos are going to force consoles to use this terrible UI that doesn;t have basic feautures on then they could at least make sure it works, nothing worse than playing a sorc in pvp when your UI bugs and doesn't show how much shield you have on or if it's even on.

That or the health UI bugs...

    It wont happen to consoles.

Why do you think that they release it 2 weeks earlier on PC? to have a chance to fix it.

Release first on PC because PTS never ever has sufficient people to actually make a dent in the systems. It has to be launched to see what actually goes wrong.

Console player don't cry on forum, those that do, cant even be called a minority. When console player don't enjoy a game anymore they just move on.
