The new IC sets and my problems with them.

My issue is that not only are the new IC sets stronger than anything in the game, but they added unnecessary gear when there was already gear that fit the role. Some examples are:
1. Phoenix set: Good set solid bonuses except I remember a trials set a lot like it that people complained had too long a cooldown. What did they do? add a new set and make it unnecessary to run trials for a good pvp set.
2. Willpower and Agility sets: These started out okay but then ZoS, buffed every stat on them by 50% which is huge. This again makes trials worthless as the two fanged snake set, that can only be obtained through weekly trials, is clearly less valuable as the 3 piece bonus isn't as strong as the increases.
3. Morag Kena: With buffs it will be run on every dps build...talk about a varied meta

These are just my two main issues, but I'm sure that I could find more if I looked. The fact is that ZoS made some gear just blatantly better than older gear sets. I also don't like how they have made it (in some cases) better to go grind a new vet dungeon than get a trial group together to try and get on the leaderboards. We all know that trials are not even that important as no amazing gear sets drop there making few people running them.

So, they were supposed to introduce new gear that is crappy and subpar compared to the older gear we've been using for over a year? No. New improved gear was desperately needed, and they delivered. The set that is similar to the Phoenix is the Eternal Yokeda, which is still far superior to the Phoenix set.

If its superior than why does no one run it? At most I could see a tank running the 2 piece because the 3 piece just isn't worth it's cool down and the fact you shouldnt be dying anyway.
Also Im not saying that we dont need new strong gear, but we don't need to make trials worthless.

My problem is that they made the whole expansion focused around TV stones but the sets you get with them are all terrible.

Why does no one run Eternal Yokeda? That's simple. It's because there are only a handful of players who even have that set. Everyone and their dog will be able to obtain the Phoenix set.

Oh yes, I am positive that you can find more things to pointlessly gripe about within hours of release if you really look for them. Please do find more stuff to complain about on the internet.

They actually got somewhat creative with some of the set options this time around, instead of just shuffling the 2, 3, and 4 piece effects.

Existing gear is still valid, upgraded craftable gear is still valid (V16 of existing sets, for instance), and the dropped gear has some potentially good added pieces. They've also provided some VR14 upgrades to other set gear, as well. (Ebon, Spellweave, etc)

If there was nothing to be gained by finding the new gear and working it into your current build, what would be the point in the new gear at all?

You dont know anyone who runs it therefore no one runs it. Right... have some cheese with that whine. Also, i run with a templar tank who regularly uses that set in sanctum and loves it.
Me: It's[WB spamming DK] a really cheesy build
Guildy: I like cheese with my wine, and WB creates some really good wine.

Except they force everyone to use v16 3 piece jewelry sets because the set bonuses on them are huge compared to anything else. Not to mention v16 enchant values vs v14.

Pretty much this. The biggest thing between V16 and V14 jewelry is the enchants. VR16 enchants are 30% stronger than V14 enchants. This is a very large and noticeable increase. I would like to use older gear sets, but I don't want to unnecessarily gimp myself by having weak enchants.

No one uses it in optimal sets because everyone trys to get the most spell and wep damage without worrying about sustain. I dont know if this will change in the new update, but with the new stronger gear I doubt it.

Not trying to complain just looking for ZoS to recognize what they are doing when creating the sets and how I felt about them. I don't represent the community so if you don't like what i think that is fine.

Im not talking about the new gear being better as a problem but there are certain things that seem to have become needed like Molag Kena which will be on every dps build until they test narenth (sorry dont know how to type it correctly) Also my real issue is that they are not putting anything good into trials and are pulling people away from them.
