Do I lose access to the dlc if I cancel my ESO Plus subscription

So I know you get the DLC included with your ESO Plus subscription. But I'm an on again off again type of player so paid subscriptions aren't the best option for me and I would like to know if I cancel my paid subscription, do I lose my ability to access the new DLC or is it permanent to my account if I'm a plus subscriber during launch of the DLC?

You will lose access. However, you keep all your items etc. earned in the DLC areas.

That seems super cheap on Bethesda's part. If I am a paid subscriber when the DLC comes out you've already gotten your money what is my incentive to have a paid subscription then? I won't waste my time with it, I'll just buy the dlc outright if that's the case.

If you kept the DLC permanently, people would sub for a month and then instantly unsub, effectively buying the DLC for $15 instead of its real, higher price. It makes sense. The incentive to sub is currently pretty weak, I admit, but its monthly crown stipend a viable choice for people who buy a lot from the crown store and ZOS is working on new incentives, like the recently announced crafting bags for subscribers.

From what I hear they are looking at giving subs extra bank space for crafting materials. I would sub until the end of time if this were the case.

It upsets me too, I feel as if since I've been paying for eso plus since Xbox release, IIt should be ours forever with sub or after canceling sub.

Not only that, but you'd basically be using the same real world money twice. You'd be paying real world money to buy crowns, while at the same time getting the DLC for free. It would effectively cost ZOS money out of pocket for each subscriber.

If you're a subscriber and you want to keep the DLC after you stop subscribing, use your subscription crowns to buy the DLC outright. If you've already spent those crowns then you've already gotten what you paid for, and you shouldn't be asking for freebies.

You bring up a really great point. After realizing I'd be getting the dlc for free at that point because of the crown cost/sub cost I am less disgruntled. Then I'm reminded I payed $60 for the initial game and $15 thereafter for a few months when the game was at it's worst riddled with bugs and issues essentially paying $105 for the initial game, because I sure as hell wasn't getting provided with new content. Up until recently I would have had to pay for that broken game until they removed the requirement to have a subscription which is why I came back.

A sub system puts the risk sole on the subscriber because you're trusting the game company to provide you with content when you continually pay them every month. An in game store puts the risk on the game company because you don't get paid if you don't create desirable content. As Rosveen mentioned

In my opinion the sub system should be scrapped entirely creating more incentive for Bethesda/Zenimax to create content I want to spend money on. As it stands the crown store is a skeleton with sparse selection. Guild Wars 2 has made their gem store work for them and provide new content regularly without charging players a subscription fee, so no one can say that just having an in game store is impossible to sustain salaries for new content.

What DLC do you get with your ESO Plus. Because I am an ESO plus sub and I don't see any dlc packs free anywhere in the crown store or in game.. Can someone explain this to me.

Currently only the Imperial City. When we get more DLC later on (Orsinium, Murkmire etc.), subscription will become more valuable.
