Almost forgot: You could have 17 (!!) pieces of armor and clothing on you at once, every piece with it's own anchantment...

Remember Tarheel? I worked so hard to figure out a way to save him from that fall, and then he wouldn't even speak to me. Rude Altmer.....

Morrowind was the only game where I read an in game book and it described ruins sunken under the sea, lost to the ages.
No marker, no quest arrow pointing "hey go here."
Out of curiosity I went to the west coast of the island, lo and behold out in the sea were ruins as described in the book. Swam around and found treasure chest with sweet, sweet underwater loot.
Man that was so awesome at the time.
Most games hold your hand now and have a giant circle on the map with an arrow pointing at the chest "look here." It kills that sense on wonder and replaces it with "hit x to skip conversations, run to quest location, finish ASAP, trade game in for 5 dollars at Gamestop."

I support under water combat, the thing about morrowind I hated is when I would swing my sword at a skeever right infront of me and it would "miss" 30 times before I finally dealt damage.
That drove me mad

t. Remember the joy in finding a road with a signpost pointing the way to a village or city you were looking for. LOL- Lifesavers. It was great that you literally needed levitation and water breathing to explore everywhere. The placed loot was awesome. Getting a Deadric or Ebony weapon was a time for celebration. You knew you were bad ass when you could kill a vampire
Flying/levitation spell plus your own makeshift firespells....
Flying in the air over enemies, raining destruction down upon them.
Yes...Morrowind rocked.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nbr1h_d-Qa4

There is a groupbof people remaking Morrowind with the Skyrim gane engine. It is called "Skywind". It looks absolutely wonderful so far. I suggest taking a look at it on youtube. It will be a free mod on pc as far as I am aware.
