VR14 ongoing skill increases?

I've Pve most on offer until IC...and sorry di-hards but I'm an Xbox junkie.
I'm trying to do solo stuff in Craglorn for Pve personal interest, & to increase skill lines I don't yet (have as per advice I've obtained here about character mechanics).
Issue is I've solo'd some delves in Craglorn, got a few bosses, killed 100's of trash along the way & out in the open, collecting skyshards and may even get them all yet, but other than obtaining the Hero of Tamriel accomplishment (right word?) in Cyro (as I'd already got the dolmens, Bal's named groupies, etc...) I've not had any skills/skill lines increase much less morph.
I've also been attempting to get undaunted past 3 for weeks now without success (morhped the 3 skills there as far as I can weeks ago, kept ensuring they were active when I completed quests, etc).
I've read of marshaling say 15-20 trash at a time & killing them, but the largest mobs I've succeeded without soul gem reincarnation is 10-15 at a time...and with no net results.
Slowly gaining CP (still under 90) but they're just a bonus.
Done 20 odd scouting missions, (I'm not a Pvp fan btw) fighters guild missions galore, but I've not had any success in other missions I've taken from the boards or generals...indeed I seem to fall at dead ends finding how one progresses through these missions at all.

I'm clearly not understanding the game mechanics to further build skills & skill lines.
Can someone please offer me insight?

Undaunted only levels by doing pledges.

Craglorn has terrible exp, thats likely why your not leveling skills.

Assault/support, levels with alliance points, you need to kill players/ heal other/ take keeps etc.. to level them
    PS4 EU DC

    Current CP : 756+

I have every character level 50, both a magicka and stamina version.

RIP my effort to get 5x v16 characters...

    Ok thank you.
I know my questions are newbie for a long term gamer, but I've always just played rather than researching the game mechanics in the past.
Seems without a group I'll not be increasing anything much as I fail solo at undaunted & most group delves, & solo in Cyro as mentioned I can't seem to make any progress after accepting assignments like retrieving scrolls, securing a keep, etc.
I did everything in Cyro (mostly Pve I know) whilst AD owned every scroll & keep etc as I thought that would increase my XP but seems not.
    Roll on IC I guess...

Pretty good exp ammounts you can get questing in Cyro PvE locs (such as Bruma and others). Quests are pretty simple and refresh every day so you can do it again and again. But you can be ganked there.

Ya did them all once, got the recognition "Hero of Tamriel" (? i think) doing them all the first time, plus all Cyro delves & (mini) bosses & dolmens, "Explorerer" & "Saviour of Nirn" came along and paid with a couple of increases.
All of that took me from VR12.5 to VR14 over a few weeks, but with no other skill tree increases. As I said, I'm guessing it's my technique (of not loading my lower skills before a quest completes?) that held me back from the very beginning to VR14?

Got ganked twice, the other 4 times I was accosted I saw them coming...

Best way to skill up abilitys is to set them on your bar and go into a delve in Cyrodiil and grind grind grind.

For Undaunted skill line you must do the daily dungeon quests (pledges) .

And yeah assault and support lines are tied to your overal pvp rank.

You need skills put on your bar while getting exp (quest also) to level these skills.
You need skills put on your bar while getting exp (quest also) to level its skillines exept of:
    1. Soul magic (main quest progress)
    2. Vampire (being vampire)
    3. Werewolf (devouring)
    4. Legerdamain (selling or laundring red items & lockpicking)
    5. fighters guild (killing undead/daedra)
    6. mage guild (reading lorebooks)
    7. undaunted (dungeons achivements + daily pledges)
    8. alliance war lines (getting AP in PvP and PvP quests)

    Oh Thank You!

A couple of those I had figured, but overall I was ignorant.
I assumed the bar was only important (after I'd reached VR14 sadly) at time of quest completion in a similar vein to obtaining the prism weapon at a certain level is upon completion regardless of level before or during that quest completion.

I can see reasons it took me almost 4 months to VR14, & in ESO, I'm wrapped up in the journey rather than the end.
But certainly I could have many more skills maxed than I do to now make me less glass cannon/under strengthed tank (armour dependant).

Should've read this forum before not after the questing...

So if you need class/weapon /armour skillines to max out or max out any opened skill put it on one of your bars and switch to it when you finish quests. You can also use weapons/armour with training perk to boost their skilline progress. Quests in Cyro PvE locs (such as Bruma) are good for it as they are rather quick and can be repeated every day. You can also do daily pledges as it will provide you good undaunted passives (and you also can level other skills puting them on bar when you finisf pledge quest)
