Hi everyone,

Does blood alter actually do anything (of use) for myself? I am game for helping out my group but not sure I am willing to give up one of my very limited action slots for something that literally does bugger all for my character. I assume the 20% health regen is useless?

Convince me as i want to use it but struggling to find reason, ha.

Thank you.

ok so heres how I look at I no it doesn't do anything for you because u cant use ur own synergy but when morphed it gived a 60% max hp instead of 40% if you choose that route. its good for supporting the team or healers when they need time to gain magicka back up with potion or heavy attacks because the team can use synergy and heal back up 60% max hp which in the case a boss uses a heavy aoe it is great for them to pop it right before for full hp before it hits or after it hits depending on how much hp they have. sop for me at leas 1 bar has it when in a dungeon due to that I can put it on my destro bar and pop it at beginning of fight switch to heal bar and heal the rest of the time. other than that I have found no more use of it haha

Thank you for the the response. This whole "synergy " stuff i have never really understood really. To me the whole "synergy" mechanic is just a glorified 'group' spell. It does not do anything unique. I fail to see what it was zenimax wanted to achieve other than just make some abilites have no effect on yourself and just calling it"synergy".

Though i hate to make the comparison but in WoW there was (still is?) a spell called light well. It worked pretty much the exact same way as alter and the whole group made use of it but it did not just completely disregard the caster (why would it?) so i do not really see the logic of synergy other than "oh by the way you cannot use this spell because it is a synergy spell", haha.

Can someone explain what it is that makes this whole synergy crap unique? What are its benefits?

    Thank you.

What makes them unique is they seem to make you think about teamwork. I mean it sucks you don't get the benefits of your own synergy, but you do get benefits from others if your group is thinking about the team.

The use for Blood Altar previously mentioned is just one example.

They become their own when you have a group of friends that you run with regularly that all of you made your builds with them in mind. Certain synergies can compliment a stamina build, or Magicka. Makes you want to call your synergy to let your teammates know they will get a buff or move to use to squeeze out more damage than they otherwise wouldn't.

So bottom line, I think what makes synergies unique is that make you think about teamwork. If you are a solo player of they aren't useful to you, but in dungeons...~

Thank you for the response! I understand what you mean just PERSONALLY I do not think the system makes it any more group orientated than just having heals (spells in general) that automatically effect the whole team anyway. its the exact same thing, all Zenimax has done has ridded you of the choice altogether.

At the end of the day someone that created a character with the intentions of healing, tanking or buffing etc would heal, tank and buff the group regardless. Surely they do not need to be FORCED to do so as the role you chose dictates that?

But anyway, I know I cannot change that but it is just one thing that niggles me about this game.. Unfortunately.
