Server maintenance!

Are you effing serious @ZOS? 4 weeks in a fricking row you have decided maintenance is best scheduled during the peak Australian & New Zealand time.
Not to mention all the unemployed Brits are also logging on.

Great to know exactly what you think of those who pay twice as much for everything.....

It's gotta be done some time mate, just be thankful it's not prime time on Friday.

Btw Wednesday night is the only night I finish work early, 7.30PM Melbourne time every other night I work till midnight so I always miss out on our prime time.

unfortunately with only NA and EU servers you will be in the minority quite often even if your peak time is now. The total traffic now is still probably some of the lowest even with australian/Nz/Asia. it would probably be even lower 7 hours ago, but european server is in europe They wont do scheduled maintenance at times outside of normal european working hours as the cost is probably colossal and no point (if its scheduled) for it not to be at the optimum time. eg. Minimum traffic without entailing excessive cost

Most of the other online games schedule their downtime 3 hours from now - at 11pm Eastern Australian time. Don't see why Zenimax can't do that too.

How do you know all the Brits that are login on during the day are unemployed? are you aware that some are on holiday as collages and universities are closed, some people work part time and some are retired!

Oh and how do the unemployed manage to pay more than the average gamer???? where did you get those stats from?

If they can't give us our own server then the least they can do is at least rotate the maintenance times. Once every three weeks at peak time is something I can handle but this is taking the mickey, I agree OP.

Just rotate it, do it at 6am for us then 6am EU then 6am NA and then we all win, well except for EU and NA who have to deal with not playing at 6am...

Im all for maintenance, but 4 weeks in a row of screwing aussies & kiwis over leaves me bewildered & well frustrated.

The 1st week I was like, no prob.
The 2nd week in a row I was oh bummer, not again.
The 3rd week I started getting annoyed but thought they surely wont penetrate our behind again.
The 4th week led to me making this thread........

Before the last 4 server maintenance times, it varied & affected different players each time which is what a thoughtful person would do. Share the update downtime!!!
The same time for 4 consecutive weeks is a joke to say the least.


BTW, I am holding back on what I would like to type......

It was around 50/50 on PS4 release for aussies on either server. Unfortunately most EU players have since bailed, more Aussies are on NA now but im well established on EU so not going anywhere. I mainly play solo these days

I have a toon on NA from when the Eu servers went down for a day. It has a dwemer page if anyone wants it for free. Not sure what page but its useless to me lol

Play on a Oceanic server cluster then. If there isn't one, then you are SOL.

3 hours from now is European prime time, so shut the servers down for the hundreds of thousands so that the 20 or so Aussies can be saved from the onerous server maintenance?

@Heathenpride precisely what I believe mate. Im all for maintenance but 4 weeks in a row feels like a major slap in the face.

Yes, these are the only choices we have. There is no Aussie/Oceania/Asian server for PS4 users.

What really sucks is logging back in much later tonight when it will be the major playing time ( in EU ) with all those people who for some reason feel the need to use their magic continually in crafting areas and shops etc.

@DaveTheMinion - My point was that the 7-9am period everyday is noticeable lagwise in pve for aussies at night, around now (when server is up of course)
Although I was basically pointing out that this time period affects more than just us, It was also a tongue in cheek quip at a few brits I once played with or still play eso with that are unemployed who will probably read this.
I am frustrated obviously and do apologise for offending you.

Edit - The pay more line was not at the unemployed. In Australia & New Zealand, we pay $100-120 for a new release game.......

Actual answer - this is my 1st mmo & only forum I look at so cant help you there.

I waited for like 4 hours last night for these *** bag trolls to stop killing the black mammoth in the rift for that southern location event and thought I would just do it in the morning before work. Looks like ESO is trolling me now. Will try in another 9 hours when I get home from work. Le sigh.

Actual answer - this is my 1st mmo & only forum I look at so cant help you there.

I get your frustration mate and you didn't offend me, however I cannot speak for all the other working class in the UK that play this game.

As for game prices, my brother lives in Adelaide and always rubs it in about the weather, so I always rub it in about how much I pay for my games although I would prefer the weather.

Blah blah blah, the OP started the tone of the conversation by calling the UK playerbase unemployed. To then bring racism into things as an attempt to score points like you are shows your arguments are pretty weak even to your own ears.


I ask again, why should the vast majority be negatively affected to improve the experience of a tiny minority?
