making a magic templar dps

Should i use 7 heavy or 5 light 1heavy 1med ?

You should go with what works for you. I know of Templars that do 5 heavy and 2 light. I wear 5 light and 2 heavy, because it is what works best for my style.

I got 5 1 1 with my magic nightblade the the magic passives as i dont need the defence if im going destro staff on my temple do i need heavy? Im prob going for beams and the magic jabs

Without a shield, you may find that combo of light and heavy not working for you. You just need to try out different combinations until you find what you like.

for leveling i used 5 light, 2 heavy but i also leveled to vr with stamina build, once i hit vr i switched over to magicka, the 5 pcs for stamina were hundlings,3 pcs ashen grip or random found sets. once i hit vet ranks for magicka i used magnus 5pc,torugs 3 pc. third pc would be wep.

leveling with destro is good for grinding, for end game you might wanna consider dual weps for the extra dmg.

Without a shield, you may find that combo of light and heavy not working for you. You just need to try out different combinations until you find what you like.

After doing some dungons i still dont light destro i watched deltias two beams vid so im going to go five heavy two light with sns on main bar and dw on off bar for beam damage

If you are going for DPS then you'd rather have light armor on, imo. You'll be able to use more abilities more frequently (magicka regen passives) thus putting out more DPS. If you are worried about surviving, then make sure you are either using shields or heals often. Also, you can make a crafting set or buy a set tailored towards damage mitigation if you need to.

5L/1M/1H+Undaunted passive is the best for DPS.
