Stam NB PvP? help

dylanslcruchelowb14a_ESO
So im vet 10 on the PS4 and I have always dabbled in PvP, but once I hit vet I kinda got away from it and mainly did PvE. Well with IC coming up I figured it would probably be a good idea to get good at vet level PvP... well needless to say its a lot harder than I thought, and is going to require me to relearn my character and what moves are effective. right now I am running 5 piece hundigs rage and a 2 piece abysall maw dungeon set, I know my gear isn't really good for pvp, but I still feel like I should be more effective than I am. I am double dagger DW and bow build. I sit at about 70-80% crit depending on our PvP buffs with over 2.2k wep buffed. I try to open up most fights with a stealth ambush, then a vanish sneak attack to reduce their armor. I feel like with my stats this should be doing over 50% of their health but is maybe 30% on a good day. now this is typically where I get absolutely crushed (lol). if its a fellow NB I win sometimes, no complaints here, but if its a DK then I prolly only did 10% of his hp in first attack and he just out tanks and kills me. my only real problem is with mages. I attack, kinda hurt their bubbles, then they tele away and I get hit with 15k crystal frags then 12k ice meteor. its frustrating cuz I have to plan out an attack and wait to maybe do 30% of someones hp, and mages can breath on me and I die in one hit. any tips for fighting mages as a NB? do I just need to not do pvp till I get nirnhoned gear? what gives lol?

Abuse Dark Cloak and Mass Hysteria. Use sharpened mace and precise sword. Spam Surprise Attac to keep shadow barrier and fracture up.

Or since your using bow just spam lethal arrow/focus aim. Dont forget to use piercing mark.
  • dylanslcruchelowb14a_ESO
I Thought surprise attack only applys fracture when its a sneak attack?

So much to learn :) and sharpened mace will not be that good in IC anymore.

SA give fracture even if not from stealth.

use fear to get an attack through the block, maybe your assassination ulti and drain their stamina at same time.

learn to use dodge roll, will be harder to use in IC aswell.

poison arrow dot is great, I would choose the morph that give additional dmg.

I would say you stack too much crit and too little weap power or stam recovery?

Maybe when shields are crittable it will be good to have that much. I do not think it will be in IC update maybe later.

I would use 2h if I were you, but again with IC it might be viable with dw, because of vigor and the dmg buff from last skill in dw.

That monster set is not so gr8 in pvp :)

Hope it help some. Could try googling stamina nb,
Moons and sands shall be your guide and path.

Surprise attack gives you the fracture even without being stealth. Stealth ambush, surprise attack, light attack, surprise attack should get them low or dead... Only if you're buffing first. Before you strike, use rally and Relentless Focus with perfect dawnbreaker on as your ult for incredible damage.

Your crit damage is also a huge factor. With CPs, Assassin Passive and Shadow Mundus stone, I'm at 95% crit damage. That is an ocean of difference from 60% crit. Sounds like you're not buffing properly and don't have enough crit damage boost.

I have a hard time seeing the use of relentless focus, isn't it only like an 8% increase in dmg? and only procs after 7 attacks? (which never happens in my matches)? how can that be more useful than another escape or cc or dmg ability? I realize that the move is good because I see so many other NB's using it, I just don't know why. not trying to argue just understand the logic behind PvP builds.

The relentless morph adds stamina regen and the 8% damage is worth it. Dont use proc outside of pve until IC patch when it is lowered to 4. Tthe proc is easy to get off with bow or any type of light weaving.

ah, well only 4 attacks would most def change a lot. I think im gonna do some experimenting tonight and play around with some of the suggestions you all have gave me. I might just reroll a dragonknight for my PvP character because I like my fights to last long enough that theirs actually time for strategy other than ambush ganks or die.

If you are looking for longer fights just respec magicka and save time.

Currently a lot of people are highly considering playing Magika NB in this next patch, I'm still figuring out my stamina NB. I currently have a 5 piece Hundings Rage (my mace and bow are hundings rage) and a 3 piece Night's Silence. I also have 2 (but would like 3) Shadow Walker accessories. If you have a good amount of AP, people are recommending using that to get a good set from the AP stores at your base, especially with Tel Var stones for V15-16 items coming out soon
    Gan Xing - Crafting Nightblade
    Elrana Tinuviel - Hybrid Dragonknight
    Elentári Peregrine - Sorcerer "bank"
    Rán Xīng - Hybrid Templar
    Laurïsil Imlachwen - Stamina Templar
    Helotë Tinuviel - Hybrid/Magicka Warden
    Odin banker - obv banker
Yan of the Red Mountain - lvl 3 DK - not sure when I will work on em

Seeks the unusual and unique playstyles...

Damnit I can't get anywhere near 95%, I'm 60-65...and I'm using 5x hundings, 4x ashen, Thief Mundus, and all the armour mundus I can which is only 3 sadly.
Granted I'm Imperial which doesn't help, & dw so no Rally.
    Are there buffs I'm missing?

My v14 nb uses hundings rage too what I do to open fights is a snipe from stealth>weapon swap on my 2h>ambush and if the enemy isnt dead>light attack>surprise attack or soul harvest 90% the enemy is dead by then if there is no lag or weapon swap bug :)

Oh and dont forget to have rally and soul havest up to boost your damage if you want you can add camo hunter but its not nessesary

If you want to gank melee charge a heavy attack in stealth into a surprise attack that works best with dw
    PC,EU, EP
Der-über-Zwerge-springt (Argonian, Magplar), Surtur Velothi (Dunmer, Magdk), Jaqene H'ghar (Imperial, Stamblade), Puppyslayer (Orc, Stamdk), Dagoth Era (Dunmer, Magblade), Æthmon Trevas (Altmer, Magsorc), Der-Zuletzt-Lacht (Argonian, Magden), Sir-Lanzeflott (Redguard, Stamplar)

I wouldn't bother with 2h, flying dagger is getting the same 20% damage buff as rally, and vigour is moving to rank 5 for a cheap heal.

Dw does more damage, and as a stam nightblade you want the most possible damage with a 50-60% crit rate.

I use snipe from stealth, whilst that's travelling cast piercing mark, venom arrow and then ambush, cloak and surprise attack.

Don't forget flawless dawn gives 8% damage buff, along with grim focus for 8% and any of the 20% major brutality buffs plus 20% from ambush on next attack you'll be doing some seriously heavy damage.

The downside if flying dagger is you jeed a target and cant cast it in stealth so I will still prefer 2h over dw.
But I thought about making a dw 2h build as pure melee

But as a stam Nb it's all about burst Damage, most targets I gank are dead pretty quick, and any shield stackers etc I just spam mass hysteria to get their stam down and have at!

Don't forget the extra crit bonus or armour pen from dual daggers /maces

I hit vet 11 yesterday and upgraded all my gear and decided to try PvP again. had such a better time this time after reading around on the forums. I didn't exactly pwn but I contributed and figured out how to get away and reset the fight as a NB and that alone was fun. im sure ill start getting tons of kills once I figure it out more.

Glad to hear it, only figured it out myself a couple weeks ago, but loving the ganks on unsuspecting victims
