Can you get Emperor solo?

I play on PS4 NA Server and was wondering what it would take (if it can be done) to get Emperor solo or with a small group?

Is it just about time played or are there more factors?

You need to be top of the leaderboard for your faction when your faction takes the inner ring of keeps from the former Emp's faction. Theoretically you could get top place by yourself but to have top place at the right time would be the difficulty. Most Emps are crowned by an organised guild helping a member to become Emp when they are top of the leaderboard.

TLDR: lots of time and the backing of a good PvP guild is what you need to become Emp

I know that some guilds on PC were taking Emp with those numbers. They would find a quiet campaign, work out when it was really quiet, prepare all the inner keeps and then flip the inner keeps in under an hour. They couldn't keep Emp but they were able to take it. If you do it be prepared for allegations of night capping and Emp flipping being layed at your guilds doorstep.

Best thing to do would be to find other PvP guilds and set up a support relationship. You help them with Emp push/defence and they do the same.

You could try and wrangle pugs. It's not easy, but some people are good at it. Basically invite anyone and everyone online on your faction at the time into your group and lead them to victory. On PC we have zone chat which makes it easier. On console it will be a lot harder but I've heard people on console form pug groups via proximity chat at your factions gate/ spawn area.

Has to be your home campaign because you are only on the leaderboard on your home campaign.

12 people is easily enough to get emp if its the right 12 people. And its enough to defend emp if you do it right.

What would the average size be of those guilds that are helping members reach the title?

At this stage I think based on active players the group would be an average of 10 guildies, that would fluctuate with people working of course.

Yea the PUG groups can be pretty fun and I have joined a few, we are in Azuras atm which is a pretty hard one to get I would say.

Can you get Emp through a guest campaign or does it have to be home?

We are holding our first PvP event for the guild this weekend to gauge the interest, I would say it (provided we have numbers) would be something to try for in the next rotation. I am not sure if we will be successful on Azuras though, that gets hit pretty hard.

I've been on top of the haderus leaderboards alot while soloing ~ And I play like max 3-4 hours a day. Zerg/Blob groups tend to make way less AP than small gprps of 2-5 or solos. Look at Fengrush, i dont think he is grouping at all, yet he has an insane lead atm on haderus.

5 of my 5 Emperorships were achieved solo.

While on the live the Meta has shifted to more Zerg play and less small group combat that allows for this, I'm reasonably certain a very skilled played who is willing to dedicate a large portion of every day grinding AP in a campaign can be crowned without help from others (unless you're playing on a campaign where your side never gets Emp).

Yes, I've done it twice on two different toons. I probably could do it more often if I pushed. I finish top 5 every campaign I play.

Solo and small group, 2-3 people is great.

Emperor is a bit of a popularity contents. Also why you cant do it alone.

Once you reach top on leaderbord(this can be done solo), you will need help from the faction to get all the imperial keeps flipped. If no one likes you, gives a *** or willing to help, no emp for you.

Pretty common with campaigns where the guy in line for emp isn't favoured by the bigger guilds, so they're intentionally avoiding to take the imperial keeps, telling their minions not to help, until "their own" guy gets lead. Don't know how many thousands of times I've seen this behaviour.

Also one of many reasons why former emp buffs are going away.

Smaller groups can get emp tho, but they have to night cap to get it. During daytime you need coordinated raids, to get all the keeps and defend the ones you already have. But when majority of enemy is sleeping, you can do it sneaky style with a handful of effective guys + whatever pugs you find in zone.

Have done it alone a couple times. Did it when Xbox first came out and once or twice on PC. But it is much easier to get emp when you can call in a guild or 2 to help flip the map. If you're a good player or someone who plays a ton it is very possible to get first in a campaign solo but I have had many campaigns where I'm in first the entire time and the ring never flips. Without a guild is basically just luck whether or not you are going to get it once you're in first.

I have been 1 keep away from getting it a couple times and I only play solo. Listening to 20+ people complaining about everything annoys me.

It seems to me that most people get it from playing on buff servers.

I think I will grind out the last 4 VR levels then put a plan together to have a crack by just focusing on PvP.

You can, be a good ganker, spends lots of hours, hope your faction takes the keeps, I seen it done solo by a couple of ganking night blades.
