Dawnbreaker Morph

This is actually one of the very few (if not the only) morphs that makes me stop and think for a second. A simple question would be which morph do you pick? Dawnbreaker of Smiting or Flawless Dawnbreaker?

Now I'm a magicka sorcerer and I took Dawnbreaker of Smiting just for the increased damage and knockdown to undead and werewolfves (with the FG passive). This seemed like a good option for a sorcerer since I can always use more dmg and a CC is also a great tool to have especially on sorcerer. But I've seen many people taking Flawless Dawnbreaker but that increased weapon damage doesn't seem to me as a good option for a magicka based char if I basically just cast spells and light/heavy attack only to cancel animation other spells.

For now I went with Dawnbreaker of Smiting but I'd still be glad to read yours experiences and opinions on this morph.
Today we make our stand. Today we take back the Ruby Throne, which is ours by ancient right and the blessings of the Divines.

Ignoring the current bug with Smiting morph (unless that's been patched): magicka = Smiting, stamina = Flawless.

A case could be made for Smiting with stamina too, but magicka would probably never want Flawless.

Yeah, Flawless isn't as beneficial to a full magic build. Since stamina builds give you more weapon damage, you're going to be relying more on that for damage than spamming abilities, so the Flawless upgrade synergizes better with full, or at least partial, stamina build.

I'll take flack for this, but Flawless is really nice on Stamina builds. Yeah, it's only 8% damage up... to everything. :p

I go with smiting just cause of the extra damage to undead daedra and WW plus knocks them dow too that is very handy specially in pvp against player vamps and WW. But others will argue that flawless is better for that flat damage bonus and there right for stamina builds.

Smiting is better for a multi purpose use while flawless is specialty ultimate so depends on what your play style is.

Pretty much what this guy said.

If you don't use weapon dmg then take smiting.

Honestly, for a Magicka build, I wouldn't even want Dawnbreaker. I could be wrong, but my recollection is the ultimate scales of Stamina either way. So you'd actually be better off with Meteor, or class ultimate in that case.

Though, that said, I haven't tested it, so my impression could be wrong.

In a hybrid build, it'd be a tough call. But if you want it just for dealing with undead, as an alternate ultimate, then Smiting wouldn't be a bad choice. If you want it all the time? Flawless.

I thought all ultimates scaled off the higher of the two now.

They might. It's been awhile since I tested it. So it's possible that was changed.

Whats that smiting bug i keep hearing about? If anything, i feel Flawless is bugged on ps4. I could be 2 feet away from a mob in pve or player in pvp and it seems to miss half the time.

That scale of your higher dmg (spell or weapon) + your highest stat (magicka/stamina) + weapon or spell crit.

So you think it scales off your weapon or spell crit? Yeah, something seems off there.
