1. Majority of dungeons are designed for a group of 4 players.
2. Groups usually consist of 1 tank, 2 dps, and 1 healer
3. Dungeon Level is automatically scaled to the leader of the group (level 20 leader makes dungeon npcs level 20 as long it is not below the base level of the dungeon)
4. You can simply form a group and enter the dungeon from your map or wayshrine.
5. Dungeon bosses have specific loot that can only be acquired through defeating them. In addition some bosses have special loot only they can drop (monster helms)
6. Dungeon loot is scaled to the level. (Boss is level 20, dropped loot is level 20, however if you are a level 18 i. A level 20. Loot will be 18.)
7. Dungeons contain a quest in both regular and veteran difficulties which reward skill points, loot, and experience.
8. Dense mobs inside dungeon reward decent experience, enemies are typically more difficult then open world.
9. Dungeon specific achievements (deal dealer, healer etc..). These can reward colors.
Basically running dungeons give youn access to set items/gear that would otherwise would not be accessible unless you hit up a guild trader or player. And it's a fun way to play with your friends, requires strategies and team work to succeed.
