Has anyone else noticed how many vampire players are in the ebonheart pact areas, is it really that popular? last night I swear almost half the people I see are undead, at this rate the whole world of tamriel will be either dead or undead, its the Apocalypse!

Until a certain point in the game I think (not reached it yet, so no idea, but it's how these type of cliche stories pan out), the world is technically full of the living dead. We're all soulless.

Yeah, vampires are really popular (I blame Twilight). Their disadvantages are mostly negligible and for the most part people consider becoming a vampire a buff more than a curse/debuff.

On a serious note, the contrast between vamps and WW's in ESO compared to TES games couldn't be more striking. I'm someone who came into ESO having played TES games to death and I still can't shift my head around why people would want to be either. Being a vampire in both Oblivion and Skyrim was a major ball ache as was being a WW in Skyrim. They had next to no upsides other than from an RPG pov.

I get they have upsides in ESO, I'm just saying the old TES mentality is still firmly entrenched in my mindset.

    Blame the dark elves.
Saw a mudcrab the other day. Dreadful creatures.

We are taking over. But just imagine how many are werewolves. You can't even tell unless they transform.

The vampire community would probably hate me for saying this, but ESO vampirism should be more like it was in vanilla Skyrim. Once you reach stage 4, NPCs become hostile and you must feed to prevent that. We would need a visible timer to make it easier to manage.

    Vampires have too many Negatives:
    • HP Regen Penalty.
    • Weakness to Fire.
    • Weakness to Fighters Guild in PVP.

    Werewolf's have Disadvantages:
    • Weakness to Poison when Transformed.
    • Short Transformation.
    • Finicky Feeding Mechanics that cancel if You move too soon.

I see both more as a Handicap than an Advantage.

Vamps are quite powerful in the right build. They have a couple great abilities. Their downside is minimal and their fire weakness won't be so bad in the next patch. Dawnbreaker is their only big downside but the vamps I see that use the skills effectively are rarely taking a Dawnbreaker to the face anyway.
