Tracking the Game Quest Bugged???

I can't progress in the Tracking the Game quest (and therefore aslo stalled on Missng in Bleakrock quest.)
I got to the Deathclaw Lair and examined the deer to pick up the critter bait, but the bone piles don't have an option to place the bait. I've noticed other players running around aimlessly in the same spot, no one has set a trap and Deathclaw does not appear. Is it bugged or am I doing something wrong?

It's probably bugged. If there are a lot of players trying to do it at the same time, that is what will cause it to bug out, as the server is receiving conflicting information from the different clients over what it is supposed to be doing. The best thing to do would be to try a few log out/log in cycles and see if you get put into a different server shard where it is functional.

If that bat thingy is spawned, the piles are out. Check whether there's a griefer that has pulled him somewhere nearby and keeps him busy. I've had that happen once a while ago.

Thanks guys! I had been server hoping this morning, wondering if there were just too many people but didn't have any luck. Ran around for a bit looking for him. After a few more server hops I landed in one and sure as ever - there the option was! I just had to switch way more time than I had expected. Greatly appreciate the help!

It's all screwed up again tonight, and the above suggestions aren't working. There's been a pile of meat sitting on the bones for over half an hour now.
