Is there a transmorg type system in this game?

I know we can craft different armor styles with motifs and can do dyes.

But what for dropped gear? can we change the look to something we like to customize our appearance?

Some MMOs now have that feature. (SWTOR, WoW, Wildstar, GW2, etc)

How your character looks is *extremely* important in RPG games. and having control of that is pretty key for feeling attached to your character. It is really part of your identity in-game.

    Short answer to your question, no there is not a way to do this.

    If you have the Imperial Edition and you have an Imperial Character, you can change most armor to be in the Imperial Style. Note, there are some dropped sets that can not be changed. Once changed, it is bound to your account.
    Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    No, among dozens of other 'standard features' you'd expect in a MMO in 2015.

    WoW came out in 2004. ESO can't even match that game in a dozen different areas of player functionality.

    * No Barber
    * No Transmog
    * No Faction Change
    * No Pet or Mount Farming
    * No Seasonal Events or World Events (like a Darkmoon Faire from WoW)
    * No Unified Auction house
    * No Ranked Arena PvP
    * No Duelling
    * No Text Chat (console)
    * No Onscreen Map (console)
    * No Player Housing
    * No working LFG tool (even on PC)
    * No Macro support (console)
    * No UI Customisation (console)
    * No 'Rarespawns' to Farm, No 'world bosses' to tackle.

    You can go on and on and on but the bottom line is what ESO DOES do, it does pretty well (except the Guild Vendor thing which is awful and the VR system is bad and the CP system is broken)

    But as far as a player experience goes, many of those little quality of life gameplay mechanics that have been a MMO genre standard for the last decade are strangely missing from ESO and it's only if you come from a MMO background before you start ESO you begin to realise it and miss those components.

    ESO is and should be Elder Scrolls first and Online second. So I really don't care what the bloated corpse that is WoW is doing, thanks.

    * No Barber - spend more than 3 minutes when creating the character and you don't need a barber.
    * No Transmog - what is a Transmog?
    * No Faction Change - as you started to play this game: DAoC released in 2001 and didn't have a faction change either. How would a faction change in TESO even work with all the quest aspects etc? That request does not make any sense, not lore-wise and not game-wise.
    * No Pet or Mount Farming - ??? You can buy a horse for 10k at the merchant. "Farm" those 10k and you got your mount farming
    * No Seasonal Events or World Events (like a Darkmoon Faire from WoW) - I somehow like the idea of seasonal events. But have you seen the rant on the "Halloween event" here in the forums? Doesn't fit lore-wise, blablabla... I'd like to see them, and I bet they'll come
    * No Unified Auction house - it's a different approach on this that they're taking, and I like the approach. There's more competition than just "my price is lower than yours" because your guild has to be dedicated to make a good bid for store location. I think it's just a "love it" or "hate it".
    * No Ranked Arena PvP - is that really needed? It will be full of cookiecutter-wtfpwnstomp-geeks anyways, so for the mass of players it's absolutely not interesting.
    * No Duelling - would be fun, but really isn't that important to be honest.
    * No Text Chat (console) - you definitely got a point there! Give us textchat, seriously!
    * No Onscreen Map (console) - not needed. I love the bar on top of the screen, it just is what elder scrolls has to have and it's sufficient.
    * No Player Housing - not needed in my opinion. Doesn't really define a good game either.
    * No working LFG tool (even on PC) - definitely got a point there.
    * No Macro support (console) - seriously? who needs macros?! No macros for everyone means that everyone has to perform well all the time. This is what separates the boys from the men, eh? ;)
    * No UI Customisation (console) - not needed, UI layout is nice as it is. Well, except for large groups in pvp when you can barely see your screen, but that's one of the reasons why small group pvp is way funnier than zerging :)
    * No 'Rarespawns' to Farm, No 'world bosses' to tackle. - I actually love the world bosses in guild wars, but if something like that would be implemented, people wouldn't QQ about "no world bosses" but about "world bosses to hard" or "respawn of world bosses unfair" or whatever. Also, we have sort of world bosses in the game. Rarespawns suck, see Rift. They would just produce another reason to yell at other people ;)

    Comments in bold :)

    Besides: WoW just implements everything it can get to sell as an add-on. WoW never was and never will be the standard that video game developers should adapt to. It is, as likelolwhat said, a bloated corpse.

    @Noerknhar you've nailed the above list perfectly!

    I don't want WoW - I want ESO which is it's own beast.
