So i have no problem with the class im just wondering if they are suppose to be a ripped off version of being dragon born that everyone can play? I thought dragon borns were suppose to be the only thing with dragon and human dna mixed or did i miss something?

You may question ZOS for it's understanding in a game balance as we try and break them again,

    .
    .
    .
    .
but you shall never question the love for their lore and the concept of their game!

dragonesque training for skills and a similar fighting style vs having the soul of a dragon imbued in you where u can us the voice of a dragon to do all sorts of crazy spell like effects. It's sort of like a fighting style compared to actually being another thing/entity etc. :) At least that's my take on it. Who knows ... maybe I'm just nutz!

I was fully expecting this to be the 1,000,000th nerf DK's thread, not that we needed another one.

No i dont whine about classes being op, unlike popular belief i think every class is balanced and have their pros and cons to each of them and i hope zos ignores all the whiners trying to get this game nerfed into oblivion

They're MMO classes with MMO skills...nothing more.

In the Elder Scrolls games there's no such thing as people that can breathe fire and temporarily sprout wings to leap and smash the ground stunning everyone in the area or use Earth Bender powers to surround yourself with orbiting stones and launch them to knock someone down.

If you think DK's are not the one class that is unbalanced then you are blind..
Do I think they should be nerfed into oblivion? NO.. But they sure as -@**@- are NOT "Balanced"

They are and always have been the easiest class to steam roll with and are a favorite class among the "Newb" players because they are so easy.
ZOS will not be happy until we are all playing DK's and running around like clones.
It has been this way sense day one of beta and still is till this day anyone that argues that has not been here to see it.
At least ZOS did have the heart to removed some of the craziness that was going on with DK's upon release, but they still way op when compared to any other class.

Are DK's basically the Paladins of long ago in WoW ?

I mean I've got nothing against people who play them , I've seen them do well in PVE and PVP and also get destroyed in PVE and PVP so they seem to have their perks and downfalls just as most other classes ,

I just meant are they the class most likely to be whined about on the boards ? (not referring to the OP)

They're not dragonborn. It's a martial tradition that originated with the akaviri, and it supposedly involves techniques learned from dragons as they were hunting down the dragons in avavir. If you read the in-game lore books about it, though, it's far more likely that the dragonknight spells are just normal magic like any other form of magic commonly used by men and mer, they were just devised in imitation of what the akaviri saw as the strengths of the dragons they were hunting.

Also, if you read the in-game lore books about it, one of the primary tenets of dragonknights is that they are each supposed to teach their techniques to anyone who wants to learn. Basically the first "dragonknight" was a member of the akaviri dragonguard, which was dissolved, and he wanted to make sure that the traditions of the dragonguard didn't die with the dragonguard.

Don't forget that you don't need to be Dragonborn to use the Thu'um--the Greybeards use it clear into the Fourth Era. And the similarity between that and the Akaviri kiai was noted in-game as far back as Morrowind.

I always just assumed that they're people who have learned to use specific types of magic in a way that invokes dragon imagery. They basically decided that shooting fireballs from staves is for squares, so they shoot fire from their mouth instead because they're hipsters.

I always figured Nightblades were more the hipster class. Sneaky, underhanded, unchivalric mudda fuggahs. Hipster.

Though, to be clear, the Dragon Knights don't actually use the Thu'um. Which is a major reason to assume their connection to the dragons starts, and stops, at an aesthetic level. They're mages that have trained in destruction, alteration, and restoration under the flavor of being more like dragons. When, in fact, what they're doing has nothing to do with the dragons.

Are we talking about Nightblades or somebody's mother? :p

I always consider Sorcerer and Nightblade to be more offensively capable with Dragonknight and Templar defensively capable just based on the variety of their class skills. While it is true all 4 can be built however you like the fact remains that Dragonknights have the greatest variety of buffs in the game. Despite the potential of Dragonknights though I for one do not find them unbalanced or OP at all. Sure a Dragonknight Emperor is a PITA but it's whatev :p
