I am really loving crafting.

I've played a bunch of mmo's and their crafting was alright, but I'm really diggin eso's crafting style. I love how you have to research traits, and to craft certain sets you have to have a certain amount of traits. I think it's a pretty cool take on it, and it's kept me immersed and excited to craft in the game. Alright with that said, is everyone ready to start sending me hateful comments yet?

I'm with you. The crafting in this game is excellent especially the styles. I love working with the styles then the dye station to make my armor exactly the way I want it.

The only thing that gets a little irritating is waiting two weeks to research traits. I am now holding on to 13 pieces of weapons/armor just for research.

Otherwise, yes, the crafting is fantastic and I have spent hours in a day just crafting. I can't wait to find the other motifs to unlock the rest of the styles.

Sorry these forums have just scorned me haha. People are always jerks so I was preparing myself for it. @MakeUcrazY I feel ya about holding on to pieces man lol. But I definitely love the way they did it. Solid crafting in this game man.

Crafting has been fun. Really enjoying it.

I do not hold on to pieces. I partnered up with someone and we exchange items with the traits we each do not have. Makes it way easier.

Crafting is really great for the first few months, then it becomes dull and repetitive. There is no endgame crafting.

That's a great idea, wish I had someone to pair up with

Between woodworking, blacksmithing, and clothing I am currently holding onto 24 items that are waiting to be researched! But, I'm with you all - I thoroughly enjoy the crafting mech.

I HATE the crafting in this game, but only because it's where I find myself spending the bulk of my time, tinkering around. :p There is a huge world to explore, with thing to do and monsters to slay, and yet I find myself focusing on the crafting aspect of the game! I am working on leveling up so that I can research more items at a time, while building a stockpile of raw materials from all of the deconstructing, so that I can be ready to roll once I reach Master in each of the crafts. All in all, I enjoy the crafting and think that it really adds a lot of depth to an already deep RPG.

Now if they would just let us repair our own weapons and armor...

+1 on repairing our own armor. would be nice to reforge as well. Strange that we can make some ultimate armor sets but when it comes to being able to repair them, our toons are totally stumped.

More than happy too if you have a nirhoned sword you can make me :)

On a serious note, I'm DC/xbox/EU if you want.

Got 6 in most heavy (7 and 8 in some) 4 in all light and 2 in all medium. 8 in shield, 4/5 in most staffs and 8 in bow.

    Hit me up.

    Crafting is good :)
It is annoying twiddling your thumbs waiting for research to finish though.

I really like the crafting in ESO as well. It actually takes a while to make the best gear instead of just getting from level 1 to 50 in an hour. I hope they expand on it down the road and add in Jewelry for us to make also. Or to be able to customize a piece of gear so that it's different from the standard mold anyone can make.

Is there a way to flag gear for research?, cause it feels like I forget which piece has what trait and what traits I still need to research so I'm probably holding onto redundant pieces and pieces that I've already learned the trait for, especially light/medium cause of the two styles.

I don't think so. I catch myself doing that all the time

    Crafting is great but....

    1. Need a way to lock items (or place them in to a research bin, which would still count toward your inventory but not able to be deconstruct. OR an indicator that this peice of gear is in your bank and not your inventory. Some way to separate out the researchable pieces from sell/deconstruct pieces.
    2. Would love to have an icon on each item that said "researchable" or not. Constantly checking to see if I can deconstruct or sell that piece of gear is just wearing me down.
    3. Research times get way too long even at almost max research points. 12+ days to reasearch an item is ridiculous. Why can't there be a way to buy research speed ups or instant research on traits....

Just some thoughts on making crafting so much better - IMHO

I would actually care about rings and necklaces, if they had some cool leveling, and unlockable molds that can be found, bought (crown store), or rewarded. And maybe if there's a set they can give a set bonus or whatnot.

I'm almost finished researching a bow trait that was over 21 days

Easiest thing to do to not destroy items, put them in your bank. Make an alt, skip the quest, end up in city with bank. Take item from bank. Takes 2 minutes.

When you need to research it, log on as alt, deposit, withdraw as other character.

Not ideal, but easier than finding another item with that missing trait. Just takes a few minutes.

After buying some nirhoned stuff it's the first thing I did.

I man'd up and spent like 20 minutes at the craft stations going in and out of my menus and double checking all my gear and destroying everything I didn't need finally. I dropped like 20+ pieces, and it feels great! I also spent the perks in wood and cloth to double research, I'm just hoping the free respec from the IC-dlc is real.
