So i'm on the NA PS4 server and was informed with next months update that none of the vampire passives are going to be active unless I have at least one vampire active ability slotted in each ability bar. So that is either going to force us to change our loadout or kill the vampire all together.

    I heard that Drain essence is supposed to be good after the update too.

    Also Werewolf no longer gets the 15% passive stamina regen unless they are in transformation.

    this is a great change for the game. no more free passive for werewolf, a reason to stay a human and an eualized trade off system for being vamp. very good stuff. vamp will not be dead. in fact more people may do it. and lest face it having batswarm or mist on your main bar for the perks is not so bad.

    I love batswarm and mist. In PVP mist gets me out after I mess up lol

    Dark Stalker passive still functions without any vamp skills slotted.

    Edit: this was true for me in 2.1 PTS, j have not tried it since 2.1.1 patch.

    It's supposed to chancge with the next update when they release the Imperial City DLC. I hope the dev team changes their minds cause I prefer it this way and I hope more people do aswell.

    It's funny how many players want to be Vamp or WW, but don't want to actually have to use the skills. Why bother being one then? That's like wanting to have the sword and shield passives, but never using a sword and shield.

    The upcoming change only requires you to slot one skill. You'll live.

    Thanks for all your post but one thing still remains is that players will still have to re-adjust their loadouts to compensate the new chages and honestly I would rather give up my vampirism before I comprimise my load out and my ultimate. Batswarm cost way too much ultimate and underpowered. My ultimate in Mages guild and Soul Magic costs 150 less ultimate and I know at max level and morphed at 30,000 magicka the soul magic ultimate does 31,000 damage. So with all that being said I want to thank all the complainers and whiners who get on the forums and force the developers to change the game for the rest of us.

    Man, if only Vampires had decent skills they could slot.. like a swarm of bats that deals damage and heals the player, the ability to turn into mist and become almost invincible, the power to drain health from an enemy while having them stunned. I'm really sorry they are making you slot at least one of these horrible abilities.

    All passives will work as they do now, except for the regeneration passive of vampire. This will require a vampire ability to be slotted. As to werewolf, as of now, just being a werewolf increases stamina regeneration by 15%. This will change to requiring the werewolf transformation to be slotted to gain this perk. No need to transform.

    This can be easily answered by reading the PTS patch notes.

    Who runs a vamp and takes that fire damage without slotting at least one of the really good skills available to vamps? It isn't like a werewolf that sucks unless you're running with a bunch of them. Elder scrolls have never made werewolves any good. Vamp was always the way to go until try eso put in that 15% regen without having the ultimate slotted.....well that's gone

    I'm about to become a vamp just I can use mist, watched a sorc weave their way through AI in a fight to have the players get attack by them, while they were still talking the players. Using the AI to defeat people in IC looks crucial. Is the invis ability in the medium armor any good?

    So is that a no? I need an ability to try and hide from AI, I'm not trying to hide from players with my sprinkled trail behind me, I just need to run player into AI every now and then

    I assume you mean Evasion in the medium armor skill tree? It turns you into mist but you're not invisible. It gives you 20% evasion (a chance of evading an attack).

    Bat Swarm and mist form are both pretty solid abilities, using one of those to get the passives isn't really a ridiculous requirement.
    First-in-Line - Swings-for-Lethal
    Green-Thumb - Scale-Factor
    Hist-Tree-Major - A-Late-One

    You need an ability on both bars. For many simply having one ability on your main bar will be good b/c well that is the bat your on most of the time. Once you switch you will lose it.

    Yes because that was dumb. If your not a vamp on live then you go ww for a free passive. Zero reason to be noral outside of roleplaying. This now makes it so you have a reason to be normal.

    Yes ofcourse they have to readjust. Welcome to the mmo world. And it should have been like that from the beginning. Now it is a legitimate choice making you weigh the pros and cons and helping to increase the diversity in the game. Now ppl have a reason to be normal. Also, Bayswater is still relatively easy to get up. Meteor and soul strike are realitivley easy to work around getting hit hard once you know the mechanics and not freak out when it happens. Batswarm you can go invisible to help mitigate damage while causing damage or get a very strong aoe heal if fitting a few people. Do you not remember the days of Batswarm spams and how ridiculous they were? The ultimate cost is not to high to make unusable but not to low to make spammable. Although still relatively easy to build your ultimate up quickly to get it.

    Yeah, Supernatural Recovery requires an equipped vampire skill. As far as I know, Dark Stalker is unchanged from live.
