gap closers/spamming

Okay so i come across a problem with people spamming gap closers and they hit harder then atcually damaging abilitys such as crit rush hits for almost 8k and nightblades gap closer also hits me for 9k easy and people just spam it. As well as there are no zerg stopping abilities at all besides magicka det and its even got an limit so a group of 20 rush at you spamming all this crap and cc break dosnt work due to all the lag. It would be nice to have a fix to all of this stuff. Thanks

    But im saying a gap closer shouldnt do that much damage yayy it crits but the crit damage shouldnt be that high. And spammable its just out of this world bad and almost impossible to counter

    Once penetration stacking goes away with the update, I think this will be a non issue.

    If they had wanted to fix spamming abilities, they should have changed Battle Spirit to include a 20% cost increase on abilities along with a 20% reduction in regen.

    That would force people to heavy attack more and slowdown some of the one-two button pain train PvP groups.

      Surprise attack is not a gap closer ...
      .... You mean Ambush? and yes, it grants empower, so hit from stealth for high dmg, then the next one will be like 6k at least, probably will crit as well, for 8~12k dmg, no big deal.
      Same with Critical rush, damage (wich is always crit) increases based on distance travelled, so yea. Keep bolt escaping away. we love it.

      The thing is that with no soft caps, anything is possible if you stack the right stats. But you are giving up on other fronts, so you need to figure out how to kill that NB before it kills you.

      People in this thread already called Surprice attack ( a meele skill, that yes, hits 10k+, but is meele ) a gap closer, so you'd need a bit more to give this thread a bit moar credibility ^^

      Lenikus I'll get a screenshot next time I fight Dark signer, sinner or whatever his name is. 10k Ambush into 14k Surprise Attack in 1 sec.

        No sir, its *** because ive been hit that hard and killed and my health is only at 21k its nothing special but something that hard isnt viable to a game

        Aren't they changing the way damage is done in PVP, 50%, 75%? So this wouldn't be an issue anymore, eh? Or do I have that wrong? At least no more 1-2 hits to death.

        It is not lag. Gap closers temporarily stun target until animation finishes and attackers lands at your postiion, then you can move (or act; it seems to me that ability to perform actions other than movement is also somewhat impaired) again. Which is btw why Immovable sucks so hard compared to Mist Form which by virtue of making you semi-invisible also protects you from this stun (lock).
        As for the spam - inevitable result of poor design, because resources regen keeps going up while ability costs down as you gain levels/VRs and gear (and as cap keeps going up as well) and accumulate CPs.

        Agreed, but I also think it is a non issue currently anyway. because, yeah, they hit hard, but other moves hit way harder.

        All gap closers have a minimun range and dmg or secondary effect is based on distance traveled.

        Does not count for nb charge since it has no minimun range required and ppl tend to spam it since it buffs the next attack. Its like a Wb light ^^

        It is not lag. Gap closers temporarily stun target until animation finishes and attackers lands at your postiion, then you can move (or act; it seems to me that ability to perform actions other than movement is also somewhat impaierd) again.         On ps4 when more than 3 people are hitting you you can break free but all of the stuff hitting you it takes about 3 seconds for ur weponbar to swap after hitting it and by then ur dead

        If a Nb is just spamming his gap closer (teleport strike(ambush) he is actually bad at his character, other abilities hit much harder, use less stamina, and better effects.

        They should only use Ambush once, then use Surprise attack or Concealed weapon as they do more damage.
