I'm pretty sure all one-handed weapons attack speed are the same. There is a trait that is supposed to speed up the attack a little bit, but I'm not sure that it works. Two-handed weapons are a bit slower.

All melee weapons have the same reach. If you haven't noticed already, an NPC can hit you from 10 feet away no matter if he is attacking you with a toothpick or a flagpole.

Yes, or mace and shield, or axe and shield.

What makes the various one-handed weapons different from each other is when it comes to dual-wield passives. Dual axes give bleed damage, dual daggers give extra crit, dual maces ignore a percentage of armor, etc....
