Racial Motifs, where are they?

Before Justice I used to find them quite frequently in nightstands, wardrobes, desks and drawers. Ever since though I only seem to be finding crafting materials and junk I need to sell to a fence. I found one motif in a dwemer ruin, but delves never used to be a good place to find them. So, anyone know what happened? Did i miss some announcement?

Apart from Dwemer schematics in Dwemer ruins, the only time I've ever found a motif of any kind, was a Nord motif (d'uh) in a solo delve in The Rift...

They're still spawning in the same places. I'd chalk this up to terrible luck with RNG.

These days I only manage to find the odd blue motif. Mainly in delves. Searched high & low, so to speak in all suggested area's (especially for purple motifs) & never stumble across any. This goes back to early release. Yet to find a Daedric, Primal, Imperial & a few of the dwemer motifs on any char.

They are quite common when stealing from shelves, nightstands, wardrobes, desks, cabinets and backpacks. I've stolen tons of them. This is also a fantastic way to collect provisioning rescipes, as they are contained in the same things as well. Just snag them when nobody is looking and launder them for sale, or simply use them on the spot.

Nobody has to know your armor and sweet rolls came from a stolen recipe or motif.

They're still there. I can't tell you how many blue racial motifs I've accumulated; enough for each of my seven alts to have learned them all plus surplus to sell. Nightstands, Dressers, Desks, Cabinets, Wardrobes, Trunks, Urns (Dwemer and non-Dwemer), Backpacks. Those are all of the containers I routinely check for motifs.

I just found my 3rd Imperial Motif today from a non-Dwemer urn.. As for the other two, I found one in a cabinet and one in a backpack. The RNG Gods must be smiling down on me o:) .

Trust me, they're still there. You'll see them more frequently by farming city Banks, Castles, Dwemer Ruins (you can get blue racial motifs in addition to purple dwemer ones), and other building/areas that have a high volume of lootable furniture and motif-friendly containers.

You tend to ind the blue ones in level 3-50 areas.
You tend to find the purples in VR7-VR14 areas

They are most often in drawers, closets, backpacks, baskets. Any container that has armor or armor crafting mats or scraps in them. They are rare so just keep opening things.

I've not found them all but I have all the blues and two purples at Vr11

Thats very lucky imperial motifs are like goldust especially in the console version im still to find it myself.

Dwemer, Blue motifs and imperial can be found at any time.
Barbaric and Primal - Cadwells Silver
Ancient Elf and Daedric - Cadwell's Gold

Theres a few places you can check but i thoroughly recommend Bthanual in Deshaan. 6 lootable containers that reset between loading screens no 1 hour wait.

The best places I've found for motifs since the Justice System was introduced have been the empty houses in the starter cities, including the ones you emerge from at the end of the tutorial - some of the empty houses involve stealing, some don't. I've no idea if that applies at veteran level but they're certainly good places to pick up some additional crafting styles at low level.

    I've actually found them in barrels,dressers,backpacks,cabinets,and well,..just all over the place.I have quite a few in my bank for any new chars I might make later on.I keep a lot of things like that for later's new chars,so when I arrive I can just goto the bank and get what I need right away and carry on adventuring. :}
(The best way for you to get that precious Imperial motif is to run an Imperial char.)
