Well, some few weeks ago, after an update or a maintenance or some such, I started having logout issues. Each or every 2nd/3rd zone load I was booted to login screen with "An error has occurred, wait a few minutes and try again". No error number no nothing.
I opened ports, ran as administrator, changed graphic settings in game, changed the compatibility to Win XP SP3, made exceptions in firewall, disabled the said firewall, flushed DNS and whatnot. Nothing helped.
Then I saw someone mentioned changing the DirectX to Opengl in usersettings.txt. The tread was not even about my issues but rather about some crashes, which I never experienced.
And I took a peek inside the usersettings file. Strangely the DirectX used was DX9, although my GPU supports DX11. So I changed the DX9 to DX11.
I rolled everything back: router settings, the compatibility mode, the in game graphics. I only left the "run as administrator" and of course the firewall exceptions.
These few days I played more than in past several weeks!
Must say I had one error 301 and two consecutive crashes during combat without error messages. Just crashed to login screen.
Right now I'm closing the support ticket (which actually was never answered).
And though I can't thank ZOS for solving the issue I still hope that helps somewhat.
