Advice vs Dragon Knight Tanks?

Hi. This has happens too much now, so I just had to make a forum post about it. I am expecting a "L2P" response, I know, that's why I'm asking here. Please listen carefully, or read, more like...

How does a Magicka Templar defeat a Dragon Knight Tank in PvP?

I'm a Templar in 5 light, 2 heavy. I usually have no problem killing certain classes, depending on the player of course, but whenever I come across certain Dragon Knight Tanks in PvP, I get obliterated. They have their absorb damage shield stacked and because I'm a Vampire (even put all my champion points into taking less fire damage already) and this is how it usually goes:

I engage the DR with Degeneration (Mages guild DoT & self heal) then my AoE stun (Blazing Spear) then the Dragon Knight will use Talons to bind me down, making me use break freak which takes up all my Stamina, because I have 8.4k Stamina in total and 565 Stamina recovery  so he will keep me in Talons so I stay in it permanently, while he literally spams Flame Lash/Lava Lash on me, hitting me for 6-10k per hit -- while that's going on, I'm using my main ability which is Puncturing Sweep, BUT the problem is, I CANNOT even turn around to aim Puncturing Sweep at the Dragon Knight because he just stands behind me after binding me down constantly with Talons???

So I'm left standing there like a melon, spam-healing myself, blocking with 0 stamina with my 1h and Shield, as well as trying to keep Blazing Shield up to absorb damage, BUT THEN the Dragon Knight will use a Stun on me which puts me down for about 5 seconds, and I'm unable to do absolutely nothing with 0 Stamina -- even my Mist Form is useless as I'm bound down in one spot constantly by the DR, so by that time, I'm dead.

This is usually 10-20 seconds long, by the way... as they hit me for 6-10k per lava lash/whip, and that's used RAPIDLY, like each second or less.

What am I best doing in that situation? completely scrapping my build and expensively-crafted gear to roll a Stamina Templar, just in hopes to beat a DR Tank? I don't want to have to take that route... Any help would be appreciate, thanks!

Switch your dodge-rolling to purifying/lingering ritual. That'll remove the first talons and give you a nice AoE healing to stay in while you fight.

Also, drop the vampirism or avoid fighting DK tanks. They're specced for fire and magicka damage and you're vulnerable in both 5 light armour and vampirism.

Alternatively, change your rotation. Drop spear at the start since it gives your DK friend CC immunity. Instead, use dark flare if you're ambushing him without being prepared since he can't reflect it. Then you block and spam puncturing sweep. Once you can guess if his stamina is low enough, then you can throw a spear and stun him. If you're right, you'll have a few seconds before he can CC break it and then you can either continue to do puncturing sweep and radiant destruction, or just flat out start radiant destruction spam on him.

Won't always work, but it's one of the possible ways to drop a DK tank.

8.4k stamina, your asking to get cc'd

6-10k is because your a vamp.

    TL:DR

Your a vamp templar, a magicka dk is the absolute worst match up for you, templars are bad in pvp anyway, your taking 40% more dmg as all his attacks do fire dmg.

Don't be a vamp. Also you can dodge roll out of talons.

I know that and I usually always group up, but I got caught off guard on my way back to defend a keep and this happened 3 times in a row, making me unable to get back to my defending.

I'm just annoyed at the fact that I can't even turn my character to face the enemy while bound by Talons, which is constantly spammed on me.....

Yeah good call, I should be using Dark Flare more often because I usually do as well, but yeah.. and Purifying Ritual. Thanks!

I do use Radiant Oppression a lot, but his health weren't even dropping below 100% tbh because of I couldn't even turn in Talons to Pun sweep him... o.O
