CP for DPS Sorcerer

I am curious how people are allocating their Champion Points for dps sorcerers. There are 2 critical abilities in the Mage:

Elemental Expert: which increases elemental damage (storm calling abilities + destro staff)
Thaumaturge: increases magicka damage (crystal frags + curses + other dark magic abilities)

How do you balance the choice between buffing elemental damage and magicka damage?

PS funny stamina damage is all in one category.

I usually just boost my magical dmg to 20ish% and keep my elemental dmg at around 10-11%, once Ive filled the other stars like critical and healing I will put the leftover into thaumaturge. Most of the sorcs dps (pvp) comes from magical dmg. Depending on build ofc.

    It depends on your rotation.

Usally the bulk of the damage is coming from a mixture of force pulse & medium attacks & liquid lightning.... so putting the majority into elemental expert is more valuable for PvE DPS rotations.

There will be a point where due to diminishing returns on elemental expert its then worth adding into Thaumaturge to increase frags damage, but for PvE you'll still want most in elemental expert as the majority of your overall dps will be coming from elemental effects.

PvP is often very different...... again it depends very much on your bar setup though........ personally I use Curse & Frags a lot more in PvP, so then Thaumaturge comes into play.

    SImple version:
    1. If you are PvE based & use mainly staff attacks, force pulse, liquid lightning etc then put most in elemental expert.
    2. If you PvP a lot and/or use more curses/frags than anything else then put the majority in thaumaturge.
    3. If you do a bit of everything then put maybe two thirds in Elemental Expert, and a thirs in Thaumaturge.

Unless of course there are any particular CP passives you think would be useful for you..... ;)

Oh & a minimum of 30 points in the tree with elemental expert is the first priority to unlock the spell precision passive (12% crit)
