New Crown Store Item Ideas

There's a few things I'd really love to see in the crown store both cosmetic and otherwise that I think would really bolster the ESO experience and make Zenimax some extra cash along the way!

1. CUSTOM COSTUME SLOTS
These costumes would be selected from your costume menu and edited at the dye station in another tab. With these slots you can copy the exact equipment you are wearing on say your vr14 and place them on your brand new level 1.

This will be great for people who also prefer the look of say the bosmer shirts at level 1 instead of vet 1 (sometimes less is more). This shouldn't take away from other costume sales as they are generally more for novelty.

2. GREEN THUMB POTIONS
We already have XP potions... Why not have potions that double your harvests? I've personally played the game for hundreds of hours and still only have around 20 tempered alloy and the thought of amassing 80 for one heavy armour toon is really daunting. This potion would help with that!!

3. SKILL POINT PACKS
These would have a threshold much like the horse upgrades but allow people who perhaps don't want to do pvp (or vice versa) but want a character that can study all crafting, two armour types and three weapons without spending 5 hours skyshard farming at end game. It will also be great for new players wanting to use passives and buy more skills early in the game.

I had other ideas but can't quite remember them for now. If you have some ideas or like/dislike mine leave a comment!

    1) They can't figure out how to let people dye the costumes, so will prob. not happen in the near future. To be able to then replicate what another character is wearing, at a higher level of gear, and automatically make that a costume on the fly, is an absolute pipe dream. Will never happan imo I'm afraid.

    2) No. They've scaled back on how you can get Gold Mats - the chances of them now allowing people to double it would be madness. Even if it was a "buyable" item in the crown store. And if it was, the "B2W" crowd would be out with their pitchforks quicker than a re-skined cat in the CS.

    3) No. Just No. Get on your horse and go get the skyshards. You are breaking the mechanics by allowing some people who pay, to get more Skill Points than those who will not. See comments in #2 about the "B2W" Crowd.

@P3ZZL3 Aren't you the positive, open minded type! Haha.

Really though the same can be said for buying XP potions, motifs and horse upgrades. Guess what? They are all in crown store and all give major benefits over a new player who hasn't paid for such things. Don't be so quick to shoot things down.

I have a character who does all crafting, maxed two armour types (level 40 in the other) and four weapons (level 40 in a fifth). I don't even have all the skyshards yet (still some in Cyrodiil to get). I've had to reallocate skill points so that I can't switch between all 5 weapons (only 3) but it's still possible to progress quite happily and find the way you want to play.

So it's a No to buying skill points. You'll want them to sell CP packs next - 5K crowns for 20 CP!

Legendary tempers are supposed to be hard to get (the clue is in the name). Work harder or do without! By the way, the increase between purple and gold isn't that much.

So that's a No to harvesting potions.

I can't get excited about costumes, but I'd prefer the developers to work on some of the more pressing problems in the game.

Sorry. Three strikes and you're out!

Actually, no, they are very different.
    • XP Potions can indeed help, but you can get them in game, to an infinite level. There is no cap.
    • Having a faster horse is not really overpowered. And the cost to benefit ratio is infinitesimally small.
    • Motifs are all about looking pretty and have no effect on power/healing/damage

Now, allowing people to HAVE MORE Skills than others, which can ONLY be bought in the CS is Pay 2 Win. There is a reason everyone can only get "x" Skill Points.

It's got nothing to do with being positive, it's about looking at things pragmatically, knowing what's previously been said on these things by ZoS and what will completely screw the game player base.

The minute anything is genuinely seen as the majority as P2W and implemented, 90% of the player base will leave.

Yes to the pet dragons!! :)

And yeah I understand my ideas may not favour everyone but I'm okay with that. We could go on shooting down each other's opinions over and over again with our little 1: no, 2: no, 3:no's but it is gratuitous and quite frankly exhausting. The important thing to remember is that sometimes the seemingly craziest ideas can inspire incredible changes down the line. There's nothing I haven't written that can't be changed in some way to benefit everyone!

To all us console players with the one star under our names: don't let the five stars belittle your ideas as they DO matter and everyone should feel welcome on this forum!

No to 2 and 3! No pay to win! No , no and just no.

#3 would cheep-in crafting to the point of why even do it. Please ZOS never do this for any reason!

#2 is so close to pay-to-win line it is not even measurable. I vote bad idea. Keep the crown store cosmetic.

Better Idea is sell bank space and dragon mounts(Flying ones)

Xp scrolls are one of those argue either way things and I tend to sit on the pay-to-win side of it. I am protesting by never buying one and telling my friends to not buy them either.

There's over 300 skill points available already, no need for more.

For legendary improvements... Invest keen eye and extraction in woodworking and clothing as well. Pick the raw material up, refine. Swap dreugh wax/rosin for alloys or sell them to fund alloys.

They are pay to win pretty much. But you may argue the xp potions are too and they are already there. The crown store should purely be cosmetic imo.

Sounds great right? I'm sorry but doesn't crown store costumes already mask your outfits? With this idea of custom costumes you are creating your own look from things you have previously earned, purchased or crafted and putting them to use on other characters. Perhaps you only have the one character but you preferred the look of armour before it turned veteran?? No problems.. Create the preferred outfit.. Go to your dye station... Color it, save it and presto! It's not going to hurt anyone and lets us wear what we think looks best whilst still maintaining top performance.

All I want is to be able to use the Necro Style on my magicka Nb and Yokudan heavy without using those worthless sets. A few of the most awesome looking motifs are completely wasted on worthless sets.
