So, my problem with ESO is not being able to stay connected for more than 30 consecutive minutes.

As of the XBOX service on 11 Aug I have noticed an improvement but this expires after a max of 90 minutes.

Just to be clear...

My problem is not logging in. It is logging out! and also staying logged in for more than 90 minutes as of yesterday. The only way for me to quit ESO is to wait until I get booted.

I have noticed that my XBOX is now STRICT NAT when it has always been OPEN NAT, & I assure you I didn't change that.

I see that the notice of "some of us are having connection problems..." at the top of these forums has been removed.

My disconnection issues have persisted daily, frequently since 26 July.

I have tried all advice given officially on these forums, submitted a ticket & applied that advice. I have checked & double checked all my gear, drivers. booted, re-booted, hard booted, hard wired, wireless, swapped servers, you name it...

Still the problems persist (with me).

My experience with ESO is not the one that ZOS wants us to have. I am not playing ESO the way I want to. Do I need to say anymore?

If anybody else is still having a recurrence of this connection problem please speak up on these forums because numbers count if this is to get fixed.

Otherwise it will be quitting time from this game for me, which is NOT what I want to do but I cannot go on flogging dead horses.

Loving the game but for me and others I see from these forums , it's becoming unplayable. For me the elder scrolls are about becoming immersed in another world ,sorry with the number of 'boots to desktop ' and 'please make sure you have a valid internet connection' messages I get, its not happening. I know you guys will get it sorted eventually but please before I go nuts get it sorted sooner rather than later.

Yes, I love the game too. Can't stop myself from playing it. I have purchased three IE copies of ESO (one on the PC, XBOX x 2).

I sub every month and happy to do so. No arm wrestling going on here and no, I expect no favour, special treatment because I do that. It's my choice as I am a big fan of the ESO series.

So when the game fails, it's annoying.

When it persistently fails it's frustrating.

When it doesn't get properly fixed I have to question myself about why I still play.

Yes, continual disconnection from the game server is a huge problem for me.

The game looks great, and I have no issues in the actual gameplay (yet), however I continually have been "disconnected from the server" and "need to assure I have a valid internet connection". This occurs at random time increments, typically every 30 minutes and the worst of which being when It happened three times in a 10 minute period.

Needless to say this is incredibly frustrating and would like to see something done about it.

Yes we are - and Every ticket I submit, I get numerous emails back to reboot my router, my console blah blah blah.

Do they not think we have already done all the troubleshooting from our ends, AND with this many players on BOTH servers, IT sure isnt a player issue

I am also having the same problems as you do. On the first two days that I played there wasn't even the hint of a problem. Then I went back to my home for the holidays and now the farthest I have come is to play for 30 seconds. I'm lucky if I can get to the character selection, but after that I'm back at my dashboard. Sometimes, it even boots me before I can hit play on the Server selection page.
I really am pissed, because I wanted to spend my holidays playing ESO and not waiting for it to get fixed.

Looks like PC players are now experiencing this. I don't imagine this will get any notice until the IC and the new patch is delivered but that is going to be Sept 16 to include all platforms.

I've had this problem since I got the game last week. It took several hours just to make it thru character creation. I've followed all the instructions given to correct the problem and it still persists.

I had the same problem 1-5 min and then got kicked out.

Yesterday tho I could play 3 hours without any fuss what soever.
If you havnt tried this then do.
Update the firmware in your router if you are using one. (using a d-link DIR-626L)

Depending on what you read, here & elsewhere, there are people reporting a firmware problem at Virgin Media with the Super Hub 2. VM deny this.

It has been reported that they updated the SH with a newer firmware which is being rolled out to the public from area to area.

This might explain why some people are only now noticing this problem which goes back to launch day (June 9).

Some people are bypassing their router by switching it to modem mode & hard wiring it to their XBOX without further complaint of being kicked out of ESO.

I tried this tonight and I played for 1 hour before it crashed to the desktop. I re-joined and played for another hour before logging off without further incident.

I am still none the wiser as to how this persistent fault occurs & how to resolve it. Matters are further compounded when you hear of players from other servers and on other continents on different platforms all suffering from this frequent booting out of ESO.

Some, or is that most? people are having a blast playing ESO without any detrimental outages & are unaware of these problems until it hits them.

So if there are kind players out there who have positive feedback about this problem and can explain why they enjoy uninterrupted play, then please feel free to share with us.

Well, I'm with VM, and while I do get booted, it's nowhere near as often as some people are saying. In my case the modem is connected directly to the XBox, no router. I do get booted occassionally, but I can usually get several hours of play between incidents.

    Dear Zos,

    I would if I could but I can't so I shan't.

I can't play the base game like I used to be able to. What chance have I got with new content? I get invites every day to join guilds and I refuse them all. Why? Because I am embarrassed that when I get booted out of ESO at a crucial point in these so-called adventure zones designed to challenge the best of us, it will look like I am a fair weather player, a quitter or just bad mannered!

I play this game in 15 minute bursts now. If something is going to take longer than that then it a no show for me. That's all the ESO time I can get before I get booted.

I love ESO. I want it to succeed & I support this game. I have the patience of a saint and am willing to help but I don't know how. So I turn to you guys for that help and a bit of that love in return.

Do you not want to help us, ESO staff? Do you not share our feelings on the disconnection problems affecting so many of us?

The foundations of ESO are shaking & you want to build higher and higher on top of that?

We are currently investigating issues some players are having regarding logging into the megaservers. We will update as new information becomes available.

Here we go yet again. Define "some". If it was "some" you wouldn't have put up a banner and not in red at the top of the forums.

This may not be Zos' fault but they'll get the hate for it. Go look at other posts from NA server complaining that they can't get in never mind being booted!

I have the same problem, but I do not get responses to my tickets! Constant disconnects " You must have a valid internet connection" even though I am in xbox live party chat, my xbox runs all tests and no issues are noted, it seems to get worse, I am not able to runs any dungeons because of this problem.

@BlackguardBob did you try taking any steps to clear up your strict NAT? Try opening your NAT and that might help your situation. I know mine goes strict sometimes, it's rare for me but it happens. It's not the fault of the game, it's just your internet connection. Please understand I'm not blaming your connection for all your problems and I'm not saying everything happening to you is your fault, I'm just saying that opening your NAT is definitely a start. A strict NAT will make it very very difficult to play any game properly.

@Infinite12 My NAT is OPEN again as it was before, it just went into Strict for a day (don't know how that happened).

I have port forwarded also all the numbers for ESO as provided by Bethesda's "Jeremy"

I have asked Virgin Media to send me a Super Hub 2ac router, expected to arrive on Thursday. I'll try this and see how I get on. I will post back here either way, but only after a few days, not hours.

This is my last chance saloon to get ESO to run the way it used to do because I have no more ideas to get this game running properly.

But thanks for your input, Infinite12. ;)

Just want to say that having received a VM SH2ac, ESO appears to be running more like I can remember all those months ago. No crashes at all. Smooth as warm silk and no lag.

If any of you are with Virgin Media and are using a Super Hub 2 and are having problems with ESO I suggest you contact Virgin Media on the 'phone and ask them nicely for a replacement hub (the SH2ac).

They will take a lot of persuading and will refuse at first. Persevere but stay polite & be prepared to be £20 lighter in your wallet.

I wouldn't waste any more time trying alternatives because, trust me, they do not work & I have tried them all.

I should have done this sooner and saved myself a lot of grief but I always thought that the problem would be fixed by the proper authority for US ALL.
