Mount upgrades should be shared between characters

seriously, its only 250gold per a character and teh time it takes to log in your alt. People want everything for free these days

I think this should be a in game buy only. I hate that they have the ability to pay to have it maxed out with real money. If they made it where you could spend 100k in gold to get 10exp in one slot that would be fine. Move away from the crowns and back to in game economy.

Answer: None of them should be shared between your characters.

Reason: Each character should be responsible for his/her own achievements.

I know all too well how tenious it is to level riding between alts - I do have eight characters to juggle after all. My two mains have their horses (finally9 maxed, the rest... are a bit behind. Some, a lot behind.

And still... I am wholly against the idea of sharing riding skills across alts!

We have shared dyes, and shared champion points, those are good ideas.

Shared anything else wouldn't be a good idea! Want it? Work for it on whatever alt you want it for!

So fu... uhm... forget the "gimme free stuff" crowd, and leave it as is.

The only thing that -might- be an improvement here could be letting daily riding lessions "stack", much like enlightment, so if someone can only afford to play on the weekends, they can learn a weeks worth of riding that way anyhow...

I recently purchased a 42k mount in hopes of leveling it individually in the way that it was pre-FTP. This new system makes alternative mounts pointless.

What's worse is they will not refund my coin based on my misunderstanding of the new system.

It should be completely separate across accounts for everything--with the exception of Crown Store purchases--and each mount should have it's own skill.

Why can't I have a PVP mount and a PVE mount?

Also I disagree with some of these opinions on time based mechanics, I enjoy them. They are easily maintained and are not tied to level progression which makes it easier to feel like you have invested something into the game for the time you've spent regardless of level.

I feel like it's fine. Just hop on daily and put a point into your 7 alt's for the riding lesson and be done with it. No big.

I disagree, but the mount training manuals in the Crown Store should absolutely be account wide training.

Respecing mount skills may have been an issue back when you just had 50 points to divide among the three "feedings". Now that you can max all three with spending enough days... you just do that and ride your 60/60/60 horse after half a year riding lessions...

Heck no.
The problem with the "gimme" crowd is that they want something without working for it, then complain the game doesn't have anything to work towards...
If you like games where you can plunge into the action at top speed right away, well, there are enough of those around. MMORPGs generally aren't that way, they are based on building up your character through effort - as in slow daily improvements... like... riding lessions!

Want something on a alt? Work for that something on that alt!

(and I am speaking as one who would benefit greatly from shared riding, with maxed horses on my mains, but some of my alts only with 30-odd points in riding skill...)

I might consider just how slow an improvement is "fun experience" - if one argued about that, I might admit that maybe spending 180 days daily effort to max a horse is a bit unfair to those people who work weekdays and can only play on weekends.
I'll never agree that people should just "share riding skills" account-wide. Or crafting research. Or skyshards. Or alliance rank. Or achievements. And yeah, I've seen threads from the "gimme crowd" asking for all of those...

We have c-points and dyes account wide. Also appereance options like costumes and horse skins. That is just the -right- amount of shared in my book...
