Sorcerer Pets Damage Scaling

Creating stamina morphs of class skills has been a step in the right direction for me. Bound Armaments having a stamina morph and soon Thundering Presence too. It's opened the possibilities of stamina Sorcerer builds for PvE and PvP. My one issue is that the damage pets do scales solely from your magicka pool. The Unstable Clannfear does physical damage yet this damage won't increase based on CP in Mighty or off a relevant stat for a stamina Sorcerer? That doesn't make sense to me.

Would it be possible to consider changing how damage is scaled from pets? Much like ultimate damage, I feel it should scale off your highest stat: max magicka/spell damage or max stamina/weapon damage. Likewise for their critical damage, this should scale off the appropriate stat (e.g. weapon crit if scaling off max stamina). This would further diversify the option of a stamina Sorcerer without creating any game imbalance in my opinion.

It makes no sense, that pet damage scales of stamina. You use your Magicka to summon them from Oblivion and your very own Magicka feeds them and gives them strenght.

But, making it cost stamina and making them scale with stamina is a bit silly  . This is an invalid argument from my side though , as there already are many Stamina Morphs that make no sense at all.
For the Clannfear however, I would like to see his damage scaling with your stamina pool (and even this wouldn't make sense) :D

Why wouldn't it make sense? Physical damage scaling off stamina makes perfect sense to me. From a roleplaying point of view I can see your argument as being valid...I think it's fair enough to summon them with magic, but have their damage scale off stamina/magicka depending on which is highest. If they are drawing power from their user, then why not channel the correct power???

Hm yea somewhat correct. You know what ? I don't care actually  because pet damage is way too low as it is now. Make it scale of Stamina, but that wouldn't make them more usefull. I agree, that Stamina also is a power factor that pets could use to drain energy from.

The Twilight with her trash dps, daedric prey can't help it. They only need to increase the attack speed of the Twilight and finally fix the Atronach and everything would be fine.
We shouldn't debate about them scaling with stamina or not. Most importantly, they should make them usefull overall. Zenimax improved them a bit with 1.6, but also heavily nerfed them at the same time. Which is like 1=1 in my book, not worse or better than before.

Pets gained the ability to crit and received AoE resistance. They received Daedric Prey, which at the same time is not good. Because Pet damage+Velocious Curse is more damage than Pet damage+Daedric Prey. Because the Twilight attacks too slow to make Daedric Prey usefull.

    And what we lost:
-Rebate now is non existing. It used to restore 15% Magicka when a pet dies, now it's a fix value (1400 Magicka, useleeeees) They could have lowered it to 10%, but this nerf made this passive non existing.
-They made the twilights attacks blockable, killing their damage rather than buffing it. So they deal even less damage in most situations.
-The Familiar and Clannfear now have a casttime

I think the nerfs are heavier than the buffs. I'm sure I forgot to meantion a few things, will add them later.
