Do Vampire skill points convert to werewolf points if I switch?

Austin.Swiftb14_ESO
I just hit lvl10 in Vampirism and want to switch to a werewolf. I know I would be lvl 1 once I switch and can't use most of the abilities until I level it up, BUT do the skill points I placed in Vampirism still apply to werewolf abilities? Like Once I hit lvl 4 will a new ability unlock that will already have a skill point placed in it? or will I need to clear all skill points to get it back, then cure myself of Vampirism and finally switch to being a werewolf?

No. Your skill points are effectively still in vampirism, you just don't have access to them. The only way to get them back is through a respec (before or after the cure).

I think you have to respec before you cure because after you cure the skill tree disappears with your skills and unless they fixed it in a recent patch it is still so sadly.

Kind of wish we had a glamour spell for vampires that would allow us to look more or less normal, or at least stage 1 regardless of true stage, for use in towns and such.

But I guess corpse looting PVP was more in-demand than spell crafting. XD

With the crushing nerfs coming to WW, why would you even want to switch?

Basically with the new changes you will no longer have a 15% Stamina recovery while not in WW form.

Is that all the changes or are their more?

I believe so, but don't take my word on it for now.

I just want to max out both of them for the achievements and dye. I don't plan on keeping it, i'll cure myself once our skills are reset in the next update.

From the PTS patch notes (which can be found here):
    Werewolf
    • You can now safely press the button for the werewolf ultimate repeatedly without fear of immediately reverting back to normal again.
    • Removed Stamina Regeneration from Lycanthropy; it now requires Werewolf Transformation to be slotted in your ability bar.
    • Reduced the poison damage you receive while in Werewolf form to 25% from 40%.
    • Fixed an issue which was allowing Negate Magic to pull Werewolves out of Werewolf Form.
    • Fixed an issue where heavy attacks would play twice before striking your target while in werewolf form.
    • You can no longer fish or use the dye station while in werewolf form.
    • Devour: This ability can no longer target a destroyed Aura of Protection totem.
    • Infectious Claws (Claws of Anguish morph): Fixed an issue where the healing debuff was stacking with other healing debuffs.
    • Savage Strength (passive): This passive will no longer will be removed when your character is killed.
Basically the changes aren't bad for anyone who is a werewolf who actually likes to use the werewolf transform, but bad for anyone who was just in it for the bonus to stamina regen.

Good. It was stupid that people weren't even bothering using the form.
