VR NB healer questions!

Just reached VR with my Breton NB healer.

Need to know what would be most viable for vet dungeons.

He's my current lay out:

Bar 1: Resto
Inner light, healing springs, rapid regen., siphoning attacks, healing ward,
Ult soul siphon.

Bar 2: Destro
Funnel health, inner light, impale, sap essence, pular, ult veil of blades.

Attributes: all In HP

Armor: 5 light/2 heavy. With focus on magika recovery and reduce spell cost
All max magika with either infused or divines.

Jewelry: reduce spell cost and max magika on all.

Does spell dmg affect heals? Should I swap out reduce cost for spell dmg?

I can maintain my Magika very well so far, can cast about 15 or so spells with just one heavy
Atk in between

Help me out fellow non templar healers!
Let me know what you guys think!

I'm not too sure about healing but i recently made the switch to magicka NB (more dps oriented but i do ok backup heals) and i know most of my healing comes from Funnel Health. Maybe try something like this:

    Resto:
You got a good setup here but maybe try swapping Syphoning Attack with Refreshing Path.

    DW (instead of Destruction):
    Funnel Health
    Impale
    Syphoning Attacks
    Sap Essence
    Inner Light
    Ulti: Veil of Blades

That way you got a totally awesome AoE bar for trash pulls and you are still able to heal with Sap Essence. Use Funnel Health when there is only one or two mobs left to clean up, impale for that finisher as well as the Hemorrhage passive. Throw Veil of Blades down, activate Syphoning Attacks, then hold block and spam Sap Essence!

Is that undaunted passive really worth it though, I'd be trading quite a bit of HP with heavy passives for 1% max magika.

And reeko I tried refreshing path but all the other heals seem to cover what that already brings to thr table, I found that I benefit alot more from having siphoning strikes on my heal bar so only need to do 1 heavy Atk to continue numerous heal
    Spells right after.

Yeah but wont syphoning attacks lower how much you heal by? And the undaunted passive ends up giving you +6% to max hp, sta AND magicka so it is worth it.

You may want to be careful with SA since it lowers your output, as said previously. If I we're you I would add entropy-->structured entropy if you want more health. Plus it gives you 20% spell power. Sap essence is awesome, but I think it would depend on how close you personally get to the fighting relative to your group mates. For some extra survivability you could run sword and board on your alt bar since you are pretty limited on damage shields and that way you could get in close, heal, turtle up, roll out.

I like refreshing path, but it's really only good for the caster since it's not noticeable to anyone else. If you are going to keep SA then you should have it on both bars so it stays up and then drop impale when grouping.

Agree with above recommendation of entropy. Structured entropy is great to cast before your initial Funnel health. +20% spell power and empowerment to next spell (might of the guild) make a huge difference on your HoT strength.

Refreshing path is great in conjunction with bogdan the nightflame monster set. It's good for getting your shadow barrier resistance buffs and meaningful heal too. Upcoming patch will make it stick for 3sec and that will be then even more awesome, 6 ticks extra you know.

Do you really benefit from siphoning attacks? It reduces your heal&dmg strength, and spells are quite cheap anyway. I see it's on the bar with just heals so you probably use it only when channeling resto heavy? That's not hugely effective use of the slot. Also, pulsar (being elemental dmg, while we use thaumaturge magic) is questionable for nb healer - sap is enough imho.

While tweaking your bars make sure to keep at least one siphoning spell on both bars, assassination ones are beneficial too for healing crit power.

I use path all of the time since I tank. The patch will make it more user friendly for sure. I made a post a few days ago called "desired skill changes" discussing what I think path should be so everyone could benefit from it as intended.
