A simple and probably stupid question, but...

How can I tell if my mic is working?

I know I've seen an icon and name come up for other players, it has for me too, but it never stays visible for long, does that mean it's no longer broadcasting, so to speak?

It should stay up in the bottom right hand corner as long as it is picking up sound/ your voice.

Your name with a circle in grey for general chat.

    Blue with shield for group.

and green with shield for guild chat.

If is shows up all the time your mic is set too high and it is picking up your TV noise, or a fan etc.

if it it not showing up a t all check to see if you are actually in a channel (sometimes they crash and you aren't in one anymore).

Go into the ESO menu. Go to social. Then voice, and you should have a set of headphones icon next to general chat (there may be 1 more headphone set next to a guild or group if you are in either of those. you can LISTEN to 2 channels at once).

There should be a mic icon near the channel you have chosen to speak in. If you don't see one. click on the channel you want to speak in and the mic icon should appear if the channel is working.

Best way to test this is on Xbox
Open party chat. Start a channel by yourself and talk.

    Or

Edit a recorded video and talk while recording ur voice. Then playback
    Don't upload it tho
