Will we see pc-addons for Xbox One for ESO? I could care less if not since I'm a PC gamer-trough and through, but I'm still curious if you @ZOS have a new deal with Microsoft when it comes to Addons for the console.

If addons can't also be made available to the PS4, due to Sony, then neither console platform will get them.

If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

Why do you say that? PS4 players are on their own separate server so they are not impacted by any future change to the Xbox version of the game.

Speaking purely from a Technical standpoint, you are not wrong. But that's not the only thing involved. Most importantly is the politics of the matter- if Xbox got mods, PS4 players would feel like the red headed step children playing the crappiest version of the game while everyone else got to enjoy the real ESO experience. At least, right now, it's split up between "Console" and PC... a nice, clean split. Do that, and it will be "Xbox and PC" and "PS4"

Fallout 4 mods are structured and installed exactly the same way as official DLC, so it's easy to create a framework for them from the technical standpoint. How would that work for ESO?

Except Bethesda announced mods for Xbox while still negotiating with Sony and Skyrim had timed exclusives on Xbox, so they don't shy away from favoring one platform.

I suspect that decision had more to do with MS giving them money for that exclusive capability rather than Sony refusing to include it for the PS4 version. MS has been on a spending spree lately, buying exclusive games and content left-and-right--while Sony does nothing and hopes to get some games out in 2016 maybe. While they couldn't get the Fallout 4 itself as an Xbox exclusive (Bethesda isn't CRAZY), it looks like they bought themselves a pretty nice feature.

Also keep in mine that Bethesda probably promised a cut to MS because we all know they are going to try and charge for user mods again.

FO4 mods will be made internally with an in game creator just like jobs are made and shared in GTAV.
No external created code will be able to be added like PC addons.
That is why Sony and Microsoft can allow mods in FO4.

    Jumping in...
To be honest if Xbox got mods or add-on support it's no different than PC to console now or even what's expected for PC and Xbox vs PS4 on Fallout 4

    Each platform has different offerings.

At least until we get the FO4 equivalent of SKSE/NVSE. Then XBox gamers will be out of luck because of the "no third party stuff" rule.

They are two separate entities. Just because one gets it doesn't mean the other will. MS has already said that Some Xbox games will be able to have mods. This is likely due to the Xbox one being closely related to Windows 10. PS4 is not.

The addons are already pretty self contained on PC. The only issue is, sometimes you need to go in there with a text editor, and update them manually.

Technically this might be true, but I am sure MS and Sony have a pretty clear clause in their contracts with ZOS, stating that the other console is not allowed to have this or that, anything that would put the other company in a bad spot.

Maybe Sony doesn't has the structure for mods, I don't know. Besides that, both console versions would need to be re written to work with mods, I am not sure if this is that easy to do either.

Why not ask zos to just add combat text, buff timers and other simple things that add ons do instead?

Pretty sure they said that combat text is coming "soon"... Wonder if they will be adding scoreboards though
