Lycanthropy/Vampirism, Curse or Buff?

I thought about all the arguments about the werewolf stamina buff getting hit hard, then the vampire fire resistance (or lack of) getting a little tweak, and it occurred to me that these are really diseases...curses. What happened to the sun damage to vampires? Why are townsfolk so nonchalant with a 7ft wolf chilling in the tavern?

Should these conditions be left alone as ultimate buffs that are player controlled or should they be treated as curses and left to the mercy of the environment?

Keep in mind how hilarious it would be when that full moon rises and the Vulkhel Guard townsfolk go bug nuts seeing 20 players changing into wolves. Or the sun rises and suddenly a bunch of AFKs are burning in the streets.

I was a little undecided what to select.. but because I mostly PvE I've gone with "It's a buff". Why? Because Werewolf is amazingly OP while questing. Example:

VR1.. received a quest where I had to kill 3 VR5 enemies in one go. Came close.. but no cigar. Round 2 I take on beast form and rip them to shreds. I've basically used this tactic throughout the entire game, ie: if a part looks to be too difficult, then I'll use the Werewolf transformation with pretty much no fear of dying.
I also have a Templar Vampire. While not as powerful as Werewolf in PvE, it still made things easier than being human.

For me stam regen was a buff, a tool to use to make my character(s) better. I'm dropping WW if it goes live bc I had no personal desire to be furry for any other reason and that regen is certainly not worth giving up my ultimate to receive. (which is also unfair in the WW/Vamp equation...skill vs Ult)

I think your poll leaves out those who don't care if its a buff or curse, they simply wanted to be Twilight

Certainly not my cup of tea, but to each their own.
If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

That's how I feel the system has become now.

"I'm a wolf. no biggie. watch me jump"

"hey, I will meet you guys at a dungeon. gots to fill my blood craving first. isn't it cool how i sparkle in the daylight?"

Full moon do not trigger werewolf morph. And there are two moons :p
It's the blood moon, the call of Hircine.

But these are both buff AND curses.
Hircine made Werewolf curse to promote the hunt : Werewolf hunt things, frightened people hunt Werewolves.
Molag Bal made Vampire curse to torment people with the blood lust and as a gift for those who enjoy murdering.

I'm torn atm. Didn't vote as I can't decide to continue with Vampirism (master class) or not. Seems everything in this game uses fire as damage. Even with fire resist enchants , if I aggro a small group and 2-3 of them utilize fire odds are i'm toast. Literally. Gets old fast. I know not to be one of those morons that just stand and cast sorcerers but cmon man , some of these areas you can easily run from an aggro'd group right into another. Mount Ash or whatever its called is a prime example. Think its in the EP area.

i think they should rework both + add a 3rd line for non- monster goers, like knights of stendarr or w.e was in skyrim.

so, give a new skill line for all with pros and cons of them all.

I recently became a vampire and am having a lot of fun with the skill set. I do think more needs to be done, besides the debuffs for not feeding. Like when you reach stage 4, the NPCs should get scared of you. Right now, I can completely ignore the feeding.

It should be both, there should be serious benefits to it, with serious consequences and drawbacks to the decision.
