Bad experiences in Daggerfall

My main character is a level 30 Wood Elf in AD but I decided to check out the other alliances to explore new areas, so created 2 similar Wood Elf characters to do so. Ebonheart was ok but I couldn't see many other players around in the starting area. The town also felt 'smaller' than the other two, but maybe that's just me :P It felt a little lonely after a while and I didn't feel a group vibe from it. Again, this was just what I witnessed at that time. Daggerfall gave me the worst experience. I was sadly harassed pretty much straight away, followed around (not in a good way), sent nagging messages and friend requests, people mimicking sex noises over the mic... I played for as long as I could before logging off and heading back to AD where I immediately played a lute with another player as people danced! :P

Please remember these are only my experiences and not necessarily the norm. I just wondered what other people have experienced and hopefully reassure me that this isn't just an 'Alliance' thing. Maybe I was just unlucky?

Each Alliance has one or two cities people gather around, and it's not always the started city.

It might help to note what server/platform...assuming from "mic" comment you are on a console?

So you're playing on console. I play on PC and Daggerfall is by far the most fun city, at least in the DC faction. Then again, we don't have to worry about people on microphones, which for me completely ruins the entire experience and I wasted $400.00 buying an XBone and the game to learn that lesson, but I digress. I'm glad you're not on PC because it would upset me to hear that. I've made most of my in game friends hanging out in Daggerfall. If you had been on PC I would have invited you to come hang out.

Haha, daggerfall is mental. Great place to grab a bargain and make a sale. There are a lot of people shouting and playing music too though. It's the only thing I know though. I like it.

that could be a "bad luck" issue. in my experience, in every platform, every game, guild ... ... in every community you find the good, the bad and the idiot.

I will be giving Ebonheart another go, I know people don't hang around where they first start it just felt very empty :pensive:

Davon's Watch is the smallest "Starter Town" of the 3 Alliances. You will also find that most people hang out in Zone 2's major city as that is the Alliance Capital, it has the Respec Shrines, more Guild Kiosks, and the Undaunted Enclaves for the Pledges.

So, for EP that would be Mournhold in Deeshan.

Also, don't overlook the Shard Aspect of the Mega Server. Even though we are all supposed to share the same server space, we are really segregated into Shards or instances on the Server. So you could log off and log back on and be around a totally different group of people.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I think I will swap to PC once I build it. I regret not doing it sooner tbh. I'll try Daggerfall again on the PS4 for now though, I don't want to feel put off because of a few people. I definitely feel a little better about it now :)

All starter zones on console are cess pools.

The more you level the higher the maturity level of players you encounter.

Area voice chat is usually well mannered in high level zones

Can't speak for AD as I haven't been there yet, but EP is like that if you go to Riften. Make sure to turn off voice chat.
