Restoring Items - A Minor Rant

First, they have replaced items lost is such a fashion before but that was several months ago.

Second, if you mentione use of that add-on you used to mark the helm that may be enough for support to say to bad so sad.

Zos will and has blamed things on add-ons some they do not code them and YOU agreed to not hold Zos responsible from any issues why add-one cause.

Seriously, never mention add-On my way! To support and disable any before taking SS to send to support.

The main thing that bothered me about the whole affair was how ZoS' Customer Service department handled the situation (calling 2 ingots, a purp, and a sapphire equivalent to 20+ hours of dungeon running; I could totally understand if they said something different, but this was their response instead)

It's situations like this that make it really hard not to hate ZoS, especially after being with them since beta. Stuff like this also makes the game really hard to recommend to friends because they'll pin it on me when they're dissatisfied.

Then I was wrong. I am sorry that the game itself destroyed your helm and I am sorry that you have to regrind it (although I am glad that you don't mind doing it).

I know ZoS CS can be frustrating, but, they do have a lot on their plates, and, if these forums are any indication, the must get many thousands of demands for service regularly. Perhaps they simply couldn't do anything?

Whoa... Wait, what? Dude that's pretty messed up right there! Yeah, if you didn't even go into the deconstruct menu then that's pretty much garbage that they wouldn't restore it for you.

Side note - if you do have to re-grind for this helm, you may want to wait until IC drops and the cap is raised to VR16, because then you'll be able to get a VR16 version of it. Also, at that point I'll be looking to grind for that particular helm too, so if you need someone else to join you, feel free to drop me a note

Been there, done that. I feel your pain. My last research item (excluding Nirn) and I freaking deconstruct it. Haven't seen another one since.

Wish ZoS would allow us to lock inventory items to keep from trading, selling, or deconstructing.

It's funny, because I need to draw blood, sell my grandkids, confirm a delete message, and press alternating controller buttons to delete a character.

Against my better judgement, I re-submitted the ticket, citing both "unsatisfactory service provided" and that it was never my intention to deconstruct the helm and therefore could "not determine whether the materials received were from refinement or deconstruction"

Also told them that several other users have had items restored after accidental destruction (believe it or not, deconstruction is in fact considered item destruction), and requested an escalation beyond basic CS.

We'll see how it goes now.

That's awful luck. Just be careful next time - I'm sure you will - and don't rely on addons. They're not always the wondrous things players think they are.

A simple solution to prevent this issue happening is the same as when you try to sell a high quality stolen item, eg there should be a popup confirming you wish to deconstruct anything blue and above.

Im honestly surprised at their lack of being able to do ANYTHING. They claim they cant even do anything basic like advance a bugged quest like in any other mmo you play. Thank god i dont have things bug or break often or their lack of actually being helpful would drive me mad.

They should have just restored it and taken the materials you got, if you then used the materials after the decon that is different.

I had similar thing with ESO Plus on PC, I had parked the game waiting for PS4 version then heard it was finally releasing so instantly went and resubbed not reading or even thinking that it would not carry over, game released and I worked out my PC sub didnt transfer so I asked to refund and was told no because I spent crowns already, so I thought ok ill buy more and that will make up for the sub crowns to then refund ... nope, oh well I should have read.

Still though OP as above it would seem to me they could take the mats that it gave you (it would be on a log) then restore the helm?

This is the long and short of it. How has this game gone a year and a half without this being added? Seriously. I would love to get an actual answer to this but we all know we will never get one.

A special lock-box that we could buy from the Crown Store would work also. Put it in the lock box... you can't deconstruct it.
