What armor traits would be best for a whip magicka dk build in pvp?

Doesn't matter :) the impact is too small and if you have dropped gear, you can not choose the traits anyway.
If you craft it yourself, infused on Head, chest and legs and divine on shoulders, waist, hands and shoes is always a solid tactic and is pretty much the best you could do if you wan to min-max.

IF you run the twice born star set, you should aim for divine on each armor piece. But I suppose you don't ;)
However, traits are of minor importance. it's far more important to have reasonable sets.

    Auri-El is my lord,
    Trinimac is my shield,
    Magnus is my mind.

Is anyone doing this these days? I don't run a DK, but everyone I've asked about this set concerning my Nightblade says it's no good.

    What's your take on it?

I use the twice born set and I love it. I can adapt to each situation.
For example I choose the Ritual and the Atronach if I want to heal, the Mage and the Apprentice if I want to pvp and so on.

In 1.7, I'll be using the Thief and the Shadow. My only problem with this set is the 2-4 armor traits. I don't need health and I don't need stamina

Does anyone know what the actual stats are for impenetrable? I've been going with that and reinforced on the big pieces. But I read somewhere that impenetrable isn't very good in 1.6 but can't find any actual numbers on how much it reduces crit damage.

I have never seen any numbers, but it's possible to bring down crit damage to 0% with everything impenetrable and a certain set with 20% reduced damage from critical hits and points invested in reducing critical hits.

And as said before, traits don't really matter for abilities. Most use infused on the big pieces and the rest divines, because those will give you the most stats but it's absolutely not gamechanging. Well-fitted also is a good pvp trait actually, so is impenetrable.

Wow. I may have to take a second look. I'm currently hammering on my research to finish my 9-trait list, but I've been hesitant about the set because using it means missing out on 3 possible spell damage boosts (from Martial Knowledge 4-piece and another 2-piece).

But with the Apprentice stone providing Spell Damage and the buff to Altmer Magicka regen, it might be a viable option for my Magicka melee Nightblade.

Ya got me kind of excited, D!

They're going to revert the Altmer buff sadly :(
And well, the Twice Born Star set is the most versatile in the game, as you can just choose your own buffs.
I tend to get divine traits on all 7 armor traits to increaese the power of my Mundus stones by over 50%.
You could take the mage and the apprentice for some nice base damage boost.

I simply like the diversity. If my friends request me to heal, I'm like :'okay hang on, let me get the Ritual and the Atronach real quick'

Aw, shucks. I was looking forward to that 12% Magicka regeneration. :'(

In any case, I'm gonna keep on with my 9-trait research. If the Spell Damage boost from the Apprentice stone outstrips what I can get with the 4-piece Martial Knowledge, I'll be ALL OVER that.

    Thanks for your insights, Dracane!
