in the guild the dark brotherhood, why is it only Argonians get to be shadow scales?

Because, by definition, Shadowscales are Argonian. Could a non-argonian be raised as a Shadowscale? Maybe. But, so far as I know, there aren't any exceptions.

The dark brohood and Argonians are actually linked thanks to the hist trees cause lore says the hist servers and only reqonized Sithis as the one true god and a shadowscale is actually only made when a argonian is born under the shadow consilation. From the time they are hatched they are ripped from there mothers grasp and sent of the a brohood sanctuary and from then onward till there ready they train in the art of assassination and when they are ready to be called shadowscales they are presented to the king of Argonia as his personal servents kinda like the royal guards of Skyrim or High Rock.

Hopefully this answers the question on why only argonians can be shadow scales besides the fact I'm sure you actually need scales to be a shadow scale

wait, aren't Shadowscales argonians who were born under the Shadow sign ? ... i don't remember, i think those argonians were the ones delivered to the dark brotherhood... oh yea tht's right..

anyway, having a non-argonian shadowscale would be > illogical, and somewhat weird, just like siding with the racist stormcloaks in Skyrim if your character is anything other than a inbred drunk nord... You'd just feel misplaced.

Shadowscale. The hint is in the name. It's a cultural thing; no society outside Black Marsh has quite the same kind of relationship with Sithis, but if they did, of course they could come up with their own variation of Shadowscales. It isn't a title bestowed by any higher Dark Brotherhood authority, but simply a tradition of giving hatchlings born under the sign of Shadow to the Brotherhood so they will grow into a stealthy and deadly arm of Argonian politics.

It's just part of their culture. Like how the Morag Tong is Dunmer or the Companions are Nords. Even though the Morag Tong and Companions except outsiders as members. But in those cases it's not a "raised from birth" kind of situation, which it is with the Shadowscales. I don't remember if the Shadowscales are formally part of the Argonian political structure or not, but that doesn't really matter.

It's just part of their culture. Like how the Morag Tong is Dunmer or the Companions are Nords. Even though the Morag Tong and Companions except outsiders as members. But in those cases it's not a "raised from birth" kind of situation, which it is with the Shadowscales. Well they are cause normaly when a argonian becomes a shadowscale there normaly presented to the king of Argonia as personal servents. Argonians and Hist are you know together forever and the hist servers only Sithis who is Brohoods god so not only shadowscales part of Argonian political structure it is there very life.

Which is very ironic seeing how there best passive skill is drinking potions and there skill special isn't even bows or duel wield but restoration staves.

Yes @Lenikus. That is what makes a Shadowscale. Argonians born under the sign of the shadow are raised and trained from birth as Shadowscales.

That's because the Shadowscales are a very small subset of their culture. It would be like saying, "oh, Nords should get a magicka bonus, and have mage based passives because of The College of Winterhold. What do you mean they should have a passive that lets them fight better while drunk? No, I'm talking about The College."

The Argonians got tapped for their Alchemy and Restoration abilities rather than their sneak skill. So that's why ESO goes the route it does with them.

@starkerealm ye alot of good potion drinking is doing. Now if it increases all potions effect by X% instead of healing health stamina and magicka then it be alot better for detect potions, speed potions, immoveable potions and so on.
