Honestly, --*Warning: Extremely Generic Answer Immediately Follows*-- I like them both for different reasons...

....which is why I have 2 of each.

For Healing? Templar. Easy.

For Stamina DPS? Eh, probably have to give that one to Templar too as I only have a Stamplar and no stam DK (yet) to compare.

For Tanking? DK. I just prefer the more classic tanky vibe of the DK class abilities; won't knock Tankplars though (is that a thing? "Tankplar"? Well, if not, it is now 'cause I like it), especially the magicka-specced ones as I think the Heal-Tank approach is really unique and interesting.

For magicka DPS? Not even a question, IMO. DK. All day. All the way. Four words: Kill. It. With. Fire! *insert evil Dark Elf laughter*

I like how my Templar-Tank can double as a group healer and you can blow through vet-dungeons with 3 dps.

For Trials, DKs are the better tanks, same with DSA.

I agree that Templars do make the best healing/DPS and DKs make the best tanks/DPS. I'm trying to figure out what people like more, based on concepts/lore, whatever.
