New Tel Var Stone gear - Armor only, NO weapons! Inside scoop inside!

Included image featuring appearance of lots of items. Alliance weapons included.

Are you excited at not being able to obtain weapons?

How do you feel about Tel Var Stones gear only being 6 item sets, 2 for light, medium and heavy respectively - with no weapons.

I'd assumed the weapons would be in the purple random boxes only, but after reading IMPERIAL CITY GUIDE: TEL VAR STONES it seems to be only armor.

I'd love for Zenimax to correct me if I'm wrong, if I'm not however I'll quietly be disappointed at the repeated use of new weapons in screenshots which appears to have been made only for screenshot props.

Ladies and gentlemen it's that time again! More huge plot holes they don't want you to know about!

On the 12th of this month we were told that Tel Var Stone vendors were selling weapons through a development article;

I'd like to point out that you can see several prop weapons in all of the screenshots.

Maybe weapons are next thing to grind after IC? That would make sense so they have a future plan too. Weapons from Orsinium, maybe. Orcs are master smiths so it makes sense. I started to drool already, imagine some customizable weapons with runes and such. This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine. You get the idea.

Maybe Sausage; perhaps the next Imperial City update will be weapon sets specifically? Who knows.

I'm a bit disappointed to not see one heavy armor set for aggressive players, one heavy armor set for defensive players, I posted this on PTS section already but meh, maybe they'll make something like 5/5 heavy similar to Ravager but for magicka players? Perhaps in 2016, which isn't too far away, but probably PvE gear without the cool faction-armor look.

I envisioned heavy armor which would allow players to engage in heroic fights like was shown in the cinematic trailers for ESO, damage reduction when CC'd isn't all that exciting but anywhoo I digress.

I just don't want the novelty of Tel Var Stones to be a novelty, it seems like it will be a good source of XP and crafting materials which you will sell for gold as Guild Stores become full of faction gear for a month, never to be sold again until Zeni changes the item sets for the undesirables.

Will they ever be made available in-game? Let's open up discussion on what you think, do you think they will ever be more than screenshot props?

There should absolutely NEVER be props in screen shots! If in fact those weapons are not attainable then they should be removed from the screen post haste. Props in screen shots is quite literally false advertising.

    Regardless of how I think and feel towards your words, I bring some words with the goal of inspiring thoughts on them, pray you share them; we have been told, we being consumers, customers even that Zenimax intends to work on two things;
    1. Base game
    2. DLC for base game

So if we say screenshot props, which is true at this moment in time - but if they intend to make the screenshot prop weapons available in-game, say in six months or something, doesn't that mean that they are screenshot props and future content?

Why do I say this? Well, I'm coming up with possible reasons as why they wave cool items in our face with no immediate means to acquire them, ESO Live, Quakecon 2015 we were told nothing on the weapons they have shown in multiple screenshots.

    c8dfcce7053232f4a3917aba33d325f9.jpg

More screenshot prop weapons / possible future content weapons.

Notice how they are in a triangle shape around the Scamp? Maybe it means three months until they are available in-game? Maybe it means something more... More sinister.

Tel Var Stone weapons. They don't exist. It says on the Development article Tel Var Stone merchants sell weapons.

    They don't.

    It's misleading.

    It's false advertising.

All the new Tel Var Stone weapons in the screenshots are actually prop weapons.

They should say that Tel Var Stone weapons are not available August 31st. But they will be added in a future update.

If the item sets become incredibly efficient and borderline best in-slot [like Ravager] then plenty of people will have more than enough Tel Var stones; plus the TV gear is BoE.

Didn't they change the weapons in IC so that they aren't a part of Armor sets anymore? From what I recall seeing on pictures of the stats on them, they are going to be 2-3 item sets I believe. There could also be a TV Vendor in IC that just hasn't been found yet that sells these. Or they could all be drops. We'll have to see.....

Not to mention no jewelry for these sets....

Either way this is a horrible design choice as it is limiting the options we have for gearing our characters.

Screenshots in original post show all TV stone vendors.

There is no weapons vendor like the Development article states.

Completely and utterly misleading, why lie though? Just say you will add weapon vendors in three months instead of misleading everyone.

    Why don't they do this?

Likely scenario is: because then it means you pay 2,500 Crowns and you can't even buy Tel Var Stone weapons until three months after.

Taken from datamining - future possible crown store items.

It's datamined as "Mercenary", hopefully it's Undaunted or we at least get an explanation in the form of a lore book on why the Undaunted insignia uses the helm as their logo.

It's a prop weapon, unobtainable in-game currently. Possibly future content, Craglorn was released as Lower Craglorn first, then Upper Craglorn; ZoS refuses to say whether Tel Var weapons will be added later, just like Upper Craglorn.

Folks, either we put up guides when PTS opens and potentially have to make changes to reflect changes we've made on the PTS as testing progresses, or we don't post guides until launch. We chose to do the former. The guides will be updated to reflect all the changes made between PTS and live by tomorrow.
