Whats this bug were you can't use any skills...

I remember something like this from a while ago where if you where using a skill that didn't fire off instantly (like snipe or crystal Fragments) and it ended up getting interrupted for whatever reason (trying to block or getting knocked down for instance) there was a good 90% chance your keyboard and mouse would become unresponsive. You couldn't use skills, couldn't do basic attacks, couldn't use quick items, couldn't swap weapons, couldn't do anything but stand there and take a beating.

Your only options when that would happen were to either wait it out and hope it would fix itself, get killed (which was likely going to happen anyway), log out, mash the escape key or open your inventory/character/skill/guild/ect menu and prey.

Didn't seem to matter if you were using usb or wireless. Nor did it seem to be limited to a particular brand. It just happened. Don't think they ever fully fixed it. Doesn't happen as often as it used to but it's still there.

dude this same thing is happening with me except i dont use dawnbreaker. my stamina gets drained while im just walking, and i cant do anything within the game. its sooo frusturating because it happens so often but i dont know whats causing it.

Two problems here:

1- sometimes I can't type or get to the chat screen to try it

2-standing around typing is a great way to get killed in a boss fight

This has been happening to my husband and I on NA/PC lately. Maybe 2-3 times in a 2-4 hour session. Don't know what causes it, but usually (not always) it's in combat. More often than not at least a third of the way through a boss fight.

Happends to me (pc) in pvp, often. It mostly happends to me when a specific lag exploiter we all know and hate, works his evilcorp ways and lags me out to bars that wont activate.

Happens in PvE on console. All skills are greyed out, you can't use your weapons and reduced to running. Sometimes can be remedied by going into inventory, Unequipping/ reequipping a weapon, then getting back to what you're doing.
Not great it your surrounded by trash mobs ad they are same level/ higher level as usually you're toast. Happens while you're in WW form using the leap move also making you waste ultimate.

I really wish this would be fixed.

This is a console bug/glitch.

It is nothing to do with the controller as the character can still move/jump etc - which proves the controller works fine.

The action buttons/swap bars stop working / glitch for 15-30 seconds.

It happens to be 1 time out every 5 - 10 pvp fights which is annoying as i usually die. sometimes drinking a potion solves it. most times you have to die and then when you res, your action keys work fine.


ZOS can you acknowledge this glitch, and give us an update??

I have had this happen to me on PC in PVP. Thankfully its pretty rare in my experience but its always extremely frustrating if it happens in the middle of a fight. Seems completely random sometimes it will occur when there is a huge battle going on or just a few players in the area. Last time it happened it resolved its self after about a minute.

This bug happens a lot, I have experienced it many times on pc. It's nothing new either - been happening for a long time but recently it started getting worse.

This happens to me on the PC and it happened recently in the IC where the addons are disabled, I lose my cursor for some reason and then can't interact with anything. I can move around, but nothing else. Can't interact with objects or anything. Often, the chatbox breaks too. It occurs more frequently when I turn off the UI to take screenshots, but not always. Usually the only way to fix it is to /reloadui.

Really irritating when it happens in PvP.

Happens for me occasionally on PC, but I have to admit it's a rare event. I am pretty sure this bug was always there since launch like the "freezing bug" (the bug where your screen freezes like a screenshot, while still hearing game sounds in the back ground and where you are sometimes not even able to shut down the game by the task-manager, but instead you have to reboot your system. It happens often while you are moving in crowded areas like Mournhold around the wayshrine for example and pretty often when you are about to mount or dismount).

For me usually calling a menu (main menu, skill menu etc.) helps, but sometimes I even have to relog.

Happens to me a lot randomly (on PC). As someone mentioned before, the only solution I have found aswell is pressing escape to reach the menu and then pressing it again.

Happens to me on PC. Complete lock. Can't even "use" items I see (such as looting dead mobs), though the usual E prompt appears.

I've found that Esc doesn't work - first go. Hit it twice and it goes into the menu.

When I return from the menu I get a load of chat text dumped, which makes me think that the application has frozen controls while it attempts to deal with a large block of text.

Control usually comes back by itself after 30 seconds - or log out/log in which probably takes a similar amount of time.

Though of course you might be dead by then...

Its not console only.

It happens on various occasions, one bug was related apparently to dodge+dragon leap, but its not limited to those abilities and is affecting any class and character.

This bug makes you unable to attack, swap skills, use skills, hide/draw weapon, drink potion. During that bug all you can do is walk around and block waiting to be killed.
The bug not always goes away upon dying and respawning. The bug will occasionally go away after several attempts to manually swap bars, mash skill buttons, drinking potion/eating food/drinking drink.

I get this some times it happens only when using melee attacks when I break off an attack to block or heal

Had this all last night eups4 . Also crazy lag spikes or at least that's how it seems. Standing on battlements full resources next thing lose all magika , stamina but stay full health then a second later dead with snipe spam in death recap . Relogging is never an option. Only time I get straight back to cyrodil is after a crash. If I logged I get put back in the hour long (at least) q. Same on the l.s.o.d, unusually long load time which really translates as goodbye your night of pvp is over

Kind of a game braking bug when you lose the ability to fight in the middle of pvp.

This has been in the PC since launch, you just need to get used to it. They haven't worked out how to fix yet.

Work arounds I know of, may be others can add more

When I try to take a ressource and of this freakin NPC bubbles me the bug gets me. I can´t do any skill or swap weapons until another NPC puts CC on me, then I can break free. no chance to break free off the bubble....

I have had this happen a lot on ps4. It's always very frustrating. Happened two nights ago I was soloing an anchor in the vet zone before Reapears March and made it all the way to the final harvester and got it down to about a quarter health when my character locked up and wouldn't attack at all. It was highly frustrating watching the harvester restore its health while I helplessly ran in circles.

Then last night I became a werewolf and now I can't swap any of my skills. The bugs in this game are substantial and I doubt they'll ever fix them. From the few responses in these forums and generic replies to submitted tickets it seems like no one in devolpment cares at all.

Has started happening to me too. Been playing on ps4 for over a year and first time was yesterday. Has happened 3 times since, all on my stam nightblade. Each time, during an u daunted dungeon run. Rather obnoxious, but closing and restarting the app fixed it

This just happened to me 5 minutes ago. I was in Dread Cellar on normal and half way through, I was perma stuck as disabled. all I could do was break free over and over... no light attacks, no abilities, no dodge roll... just break free and right back into disabled.

On PC, pressing a skill button does not elicit a response; more often, when gathering, pressing E will not collect the item. This occurs about one in ten attempts. Irritating to say the least.
