It was fun for me everytime I was able to help new players.
Either by giving them mats, golds to start with or a good advice.
The most common complain those new players told me was,
"Why do we die so quickly in PVP?"
My answer was,
"Because you are just new players, and you will learn a lot"
And they asked me,
"So, is it just because we are new, and don't know some combat mechanics,
that we should die almost instantly everytime a veteran PVPer attacks us?"
Then I can't give an honest answer anymore.
Because I, myself was frustrating new players in enemy alliances too.
Using my combat mechanics knowledge and PVP experience I unleashed
to them the cruelty of PVP, that they will die if they make even few mistakes.
As a new player in PVP, they can only do few right things, and they will pay for it.
Of course on my side, I was having fun most of the time.
When I put myself on their shoes, being killed so often,
and most of the time it only took a couple of seconds, sometimes
it is just in a blink of an eye when the ganker is on his burst damage build,
I can feel that the feeling was disheartening, a feeling of quitting the game.
I saw new players come and go, add them on my friend list, guild and watch them
say "This is my last day to play". It was so sad to see a new player come to play
and quits in a very short period of time because he had experience an imbalance
game mechanics, and not having fun at all, but to die in someone's character
"so quick" everytime he play.
Now the tide is about to change, the damage in PTS was good enough.
Maybe lowering it a little bit more will be better.
But I can see that this update will give nore fun to new players.
And to casual players as well.
Of course veteran PVPers like me will have the urge to complain,
that time to kill is very long, that combat seems very slow,
but WE CAN ADAPT.
If new players and casual gamers will enjoy PvP at this slower pace combat
then there are no doubts that veteran PVPers can adjust.
Few of my friends who share the same concern tried PTS PVP
with a level 10 character just to observe how a new player can
survive PVP. Result was, it was more reasonable enough.
New players got time to react, but they will eventually die.
That time that they can react and actually defend themselves
was the thing that most new players are searching for.
Now it is about to come.
But veteran PVPers will say all their concerns and try to make
the Devs change some things before it hits live.
I hope the Devs wont allow themselves to be confused with some
feedbacks that damage was too low, that combat was to slow.
Coz the truth is, it is perfect on PTS right now.
I know that this update will be in favor of majority of players.
ZOS, please stand firm on your position, this is a good update.
You dont have to change anything other than bugs.
This update was obviously thought out very carefully by your
team, an excellent update and balancing, give it to us.
Nothing more, nothing less.
