https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAfv86rPXKIA good way to look at it is: good class duos have the same mobility:
You get the slow Tanky duos (I say "slow" because you don't have "escapes", so if you fight in a duo like this you either win or you die, but if there's two of you you'll actually die very rarely -- just because you don't have an escape does NOT mean you'll die a lot! You're tanky, and with two of you guys working together it's tons of fun 2vXing!):
DK + DK = Good Lots of upfront tanking. Take a look at Aetcharian and Skaffa,https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2usgLvnA8c
Temp + Temp = Good Lots of heals coming from both players, if one is low health, the other will heal. Very hard to be killed and loads of fun.
I actually couldn't find an example video for you of two templars fighting, so I included some stuff from Blabafat who's a great Temp, but believe me this is a lot of fun.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0sbWidWnvkk
DK + Temp = Good This is just fun, it's pretty tanky with temp doubling as a Healer and a good Tank, but the DK needs to play so that he doesn't make the Temp waste his magicka healing the DK and end up getting the temp killed. Here is something from Divine Crosshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FnHrYOV_WzY
and I'm including a video from Bae Come Back, because he does a lot of DK + Another class 2vX, maybe to give you an idea what to expect.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6i738ahOIqc
You have the escape duos (Bolt escape or Shadow Cloak gives you the ability to escape, but if only one of you has an escape ability (i.e. Sorc + DK), then when fights go south the other will keep dying while one escapes which isn't ideal):
Sorc + Sorc = Good This is considered the best or rather, easiest, duo by a lot of duellers and good PvP players. The reason is that you're tanky enough to stand in the middle of a zerg and spam shields, but if you really do get in trouble you can Bolt Escape away. Most mobility, good DPS, and lots of tankiness from both players makes for a lethal combo. Look at Bolterity's youtube channel, he has some videos where he plays with Qauvir Av Molag (or however the hell you say it), Sypher's Sorc vids with Aetcharian, and they all wreck face.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wE83pcmqckY
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-f_95H81fcg
NB + NB = Good This is a fun one, but it's a different play style than most. You'll have a heavy reliance on stealth, and would use your shadow cloak frequently. Great for ganking and structure-trolling (Like on a bridge). Again a good example would be Sypher and Aetcharian's NB duo videohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAfv86rPXKI
Sorc + NB = Okay. The reason why I think this one is only okay is that you and your brother may find that because you have different types of escapes, you would desync in the middle of fights when things get tough -- so the Sorc might bolt away and leave the NB behind, and the NB would TRY to stealth and not get it right, resulting in the NB dying and the Sorc escaping. Or perhaps the NB stealths away, but the Sorc gets chased down by 3 other Sorcs, so the Sorc dies a mile away from where the NB is. Still, with good coordination you can make it work well for you. But then again, with good coordination you can make anything work for you. Which brings me to the bad combos:
Bad duos:
Sorc + DK
Sorc + Temp
NB + DK
NB + Temp
This is OF COURSE not entirely true, because the "Bad duos" as I listed them above can OBVIOUSLY be made to work really well if you guys play them well and coordinate well. I can find dozens of videos where odd class combos work GREAT. In the end you have to decide what suits YOU. And I hope I helped you
PS: I realize you mentioned you'll be playing on the Playstation and all the links I gave you were to PC videos, but frankly I have yet to see a single video of Playstation 4 PvP that contains good players -- it's obviously because it's still very new over there, but what I really wanted to say is that if you find yourself confused by all the numbers and stuff from the PC, don't stress. Just look at all those peeps dying instead.
2 DKs hands down. I dont think 2 NB works, one good tank can suck their stamina and magicka easy.
