Finally was able to get into the PvE/AvA zone last night with some friends and for my money, the gameplay style is cool:
-Mobs are in general harder (+)
-"World Bosses" are not able to be soloed & have wide ranges to roam (+)
-Map has tons of places to explore, hide & gank or be ganked (+)
-fyi, for all those ppl complaining about gankers, nothing more satisfying than rofl-stomping someone who gets the jump on you
-Cowardly Sorcs can't get away, but a talented sorc can still maneuver for advantage
-Design really does not support large zergs, most I saw was about 12, and that was 2 different grps of blue crossing paths (+)
-fyi, a good team of 4 can take or escape a random zerg of 12 with the mob mechanics and terrain in play, think speed + detect pots
Most of my negatives have to do with things outside of the gameplay... I'm a completionist so I have 9 traits across the board, do a healthy amount of writs, and the way ZOS has setup crafting ATM seems fugly to me:
-New tempers to upgrade gear... this is just stupid, and people who play MMOs hoard so that argument holds no water for me (-)
-10 ingots for v15 & 100 for v16... while that would make writs somewhat easier, would rather they stick with the linear increase (-)
-Hirelings only return 1 raw mat as opposed to the 5 for every other raw material (-)
-Cowardly NBs can get away (-)
-I do not like the 0 stam regen while blocking in PvE content, I can rationalize a decrease (50% reduction say) but a flat 0 is overkill (-)
I know this is a test server (which is why I don't run add-ons and had no crashing problems), so hopefully things continue to improve and the over-reaches get reeled in a bit. Haven't really had a chance to dive into the sets or what it takes to gather TV at a decent clip yet... was pretty careless about my K/D ratio because it doesn't really matter at this point. Figure I will save that for the weekend and some extended testing. Just want to say the sky is not falling people, just changing colors.
I only came to melt faces; I leave the whining to the rest of you.
