Fishing in Auridon

I have been fishing off and on for a couple months. I have caught about 1500 river fish in Auridon and have yet to catch the blue rare fish. Is this normal, am I just unlucky, or is this zone bugged? I have fished in about 10 spots, all I can find, and have caught lots of green rares. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

My wife and I fish the same spots and, standing next to me, she caught 2 blues out of one spot when i got a bunch of used bait and Duhfish or something. She insists on using only worms and guts. I dont know if that's the reason. But I'm going to change my bait a bit if this keeps up.0 -

If you're catching Used Bait, it means that you're using the wrong type of bait for that specific type of water. Think of it this way,
Correct bait = 100% chance of catching any fish.
Wrong bait = 50% chance of catching used bait.
Over the course of two hours last night in Craglorn. I caught about 30 blue and green using Guts for Lake fishing.
I also noticed the more people fishing the same spot, I was getting more rare fish, which sucks because I don't want the achievements, I wanted skinnable fish haha.
At one point, there was three of us fishing a single hole and I got 5 rare in a row, 2 of them being rare. Nice gold, but it doesn't get me any perfect roe.0 -

Yes, I am missing one blue ocean fish also the eel. I use the rare fish tracker add on, will try other but don't think it will help drop rate. I always use the correct bait for the type water, river using Insect Parts and about 25 shad. I also have fished several "holes" with one or two other players. Still no joy...))0 -

It's called RNG. It sucks, but you are just having a streak of being on the wrong side of an RNG curve. About the only thing you can do is fish with friends, which will improve your odds of catching rares.
