Console Unit Frame / Debuff Support.

I have looked over the forums but have not seen much attention brought to this issue. How am I supposed to be able to PVP or play this game competitively, better yet even effectively if there is no way to see my debuffs on my target or better yet even the damage I am doing while playing on console. In my opinion this is pretty much mandatory for any MMO and greatly lowers the skill cap and fun of PVP and even PVE...

I am asking for the following options to be added to console versions immediately.

- Check boxes within Settings to be able to see buffs/debuffs with countdown timers above HP bars of players you are targeting or looking at.
- Check box within Settings to be able to see buffs/debuffs with count down timers that are on myself.
- Check box within Settings menu to be able to see how much damage my attacks are doing.

Please don't tell me if I want these features to go and play PC. I should not have to play the PC version to get what is in my opinion mandatory and crucial parts of any MMO. Without these additions this game on console is literally a button mashing joke.

I totally agree and have said so several times. This game NEEDS combat text and buff/debuff timers. As well as a menu to see things such as current dps, max hit/heal, most damge/healing done, etc. It is very annoying when i want to test a new build or rotation and can't see the differences.

Aren't these count down timers the direct cause of PC players complaining the game is too easy as they are essentially following the instructions given to them by their apps rather than using skill and judgement?

I've had this topic up for discussion before but it's really hard to get console players to either leave feedback or even care at all.
They simply play this game as a singel player game and therefore don't feel the need for any of the core mechanics of an MMO.
Text chat, combat log, buff/debuff bar with timers, rebindable keys should in my opinion have been in the game from launch and i do hope we console players manage to get our voices heard.

I agree that Damage numbers need to be added but most console players won't come and support the thread which I believe is wrong.Look at the text chat thread of they all came and support this thread then we can actually make the console version better. If all the console players on the forums support stuff like, combat log, buff/debuff bar with timers, rebindable key then am sure it be added.

Why? Just because you can't see it doesn't mean its not there?

You can see how much damage you're doing by watxhing their health bar, the exact numbers are worthless imo.

Plus aren't you using all abilities in your bar despite what armor or buffs they have?

Imo,I prefer the more realistic aspects of the game. If im in a fist fight with you we have no idea how strong each of us are, if we are on something or not or if you have a glass jaw or not. In this these are all unknowns and need to be accounted for by the self and not the game.

You can tell how much damage you are doing, you can tell if you are winning or losing, thats all i would think you would need.

Btw rolling damage numbers are ugly and immersion breaking.

Exactly why this would be an option that you don't have to turn on waff. For those of you casual players who don't care about numbers etc you don't have to see it.

Why timers are needed also from a PvE perspective:

You can not maximize your dps as long as there is no timers! Especially not as a DoT using class/build. To maximize your DoT damage you want to refresh the DoT as soon as the last tick goes of! Not sooner and not later! Do it sooner or later and its a loss in dps!

This makes it impossible to maximze your dps without timers!

In the same way it is impossible to know when a buff or debuff is on and/or off. Recast buff/debuff too early/late and you have a loss in hps/dps.

Same with cleansing! Hard to know when to cleanse when you cant see if other players are affected by a debuff of some form.

So yes, I whole heartedly agree with the original poster! We need effect timers in game asap!

    Yes add this please!

Along with HP numbers or percentages and text chat for zones and guilds.

  • LowOnTheTrack
Console players especially the ones who want to get better and do endgame could use these functionalities. I know PC games can get more addons but little things like seeing HP numbers, Damage numbers, and debuffs and such would help out on ESO console. At least give us an option to toggle it on or off.

If you're planning on playing ESO in any serious way, I wouldn't suggest doing it on console.

I disagree. Its still very possible to play serious on console. Ive been playing WoW hardcore for 9 years straight without a single break (quitted in MoP), plus a handful of other mmorpg:s on PC so Im very aware of the HUGE disadvantage it is to play without timers and different addons.
Its still very doable to play on a high level on console though! Its just more challenging ;).

But yeah, Timers for console please!

I agree that their needs to be ui improvement for damage and buffs, but if it makes you feel any better ZoS never added these things to the PC version either. Every video you see with these ui enhancements are player generated. There is no official ui mod by ZoS. I think they certainly need to be added, but until ZoS creates there own mod, console players are out in the cold.

I'm XBox, but pre purchased on Mac.
Hated the UI on Mac during the 4 day pre-release play & held my membership for XBox...now that's patience & dedication.

So I speak to ZOS the other day, about UI, & was told they're researching a "console like UI for PC/Mac".
Unless I'm a complete goose, that would mean having the accessibility to monitor your character (far more than console presently does) using a Mac/PC with a controller...hence I would imagine the reverse shouldn't be outside of realm of possibility?
I was always told the restrictions on controllers is number of buttons verses keyboards & a mouse?

I for one Zos would dearly like to have details of damage/buffs/defences/etc as I continue to attempt to increase my gaming abilities as my chosen character.
At least after the fact to analyse bettering myself/character...
