I just want to be able to have text chat added. And they need to fix a bunch of stuff with channels and muting in Voice Chat. It's so agitating getting online and all of the new players, or rude players, are blasting music or making tons of noise/feedback.

The other text chat thread was closed so in respect for those who do or are interested in the topic I thought to create a dissimilar topic.

I think many know I'm not for adding it but the thread is intended for discussion and voting of a new idea that hasn't been discussed. Please let's keep this from becoming an argument or complaint topic. If you have feedback...please share it regardless of being for or against it.

No brainer for me. I play Eve on my laptop. I play the more traditional MMO on my ps4. I dont want to live sat at my laptop, I like to sprawl now and again and play console. If they came out and ruled out text on console and offered this then I would think about it but probably say no.

It would involve me purchasing a PC capable of playing it. Plus I have my friends and guild playing on Xbox 1 so I wouldn't want to change now.
I would very much like text chat though.

I don't normally like to double buy a game but 2 weeks ago I bought the PC game. I enjoy it much better but not because of the text. Add on's mostly and because I'm using an XBOX One controller keybinding is here..plus a few other things.

IMO, the game is like night and day between the two.

At least put a link to the video for those that haven't seen it. I know the video is "out there"...but your target audience doesn't strike me as the sort that's going out of their way for much of anything.

No cause i aint all that familiar with pc gaming plus i haven't the resource to buy a pc just for this dumb reason if people already have a platform it's on every platform should offer the samething not just some things such as text chat should also be available to console players and when the new ui comes out for pc and they get controler support one thing we console players at least had some kinda of advantage with we won't no more take the only good thing we probably had over pc and give that to them also that's when the *** is going to hit the fan i just want everyone to know gamestop here in my local town offers money back for things you have bougt as long as you have the receipt if i was everyone that bought eso for console i would go back to the place you got it from and demand your money back

Those videos are from before launch. The fact that people have played the game and want it put in makes any point smurf tries to make irrelevant and he should be discounted from this fairly blatant attempt to derail this desire people have to have text implemented. Including I have to say private messages to get his point across which in my book is pretty low.

At end game it is impossible to find groups, text chat is needed.

Trying to find groups to do Craglorn, dungeons and PvP is the worst experience I have had in an MMO, the game just feels so isolated and all the end game content feels out of reach because of the lack of communication and the ability to find people to play with.

It doesn't matter how big the text becomes on a TV, if the text box can be hidden. No one is going to use chat while they are fighting etc, it is needed to co-ordinate between activities for PvE and PvP. Which is impossible using voice chat when half the people aren't even listening and when the only people that can hear are very local.

I feel your pain there is nothing to do basically when you reach veteran rank 14 can't find a group for anything cause the group finder sucks balls and you can't even communicate in text chat to try and assemble your own group for dungeons or craglorn basically this game on console is dead to ppl after veteran rank 14 and i Wouldn't doubt after a couple more months when alot on console players reach vr 14 also realize this and just decide to say this game is broken i'm leaving until they fix it then it will be all the way dead or close unless they act before it's to late and implement these simple things into the console version

im stuck at VR10 because i cant group to get the last 4 VR levels lol. and i sure dont want to grind like i see 50 other people doing.

so i pretty much am leveling the 3 other classes all at once zone by zone. just finished glenembra on my sorc and templar working on DK now and than gonna repeat for every zone until they are stuck at VR10 also

This is what I ended up doing. I have now got a Vet 14 Sorc and DK and I am working on a NB now. Instead of enjoying the end game content I am leveling alt characters mixed with PvP. It would be nice to complete some of the Vet content and do Craglorn.

My first character I completed the Tamriel Hero acheivement and Cyrodiil explorer and was Vet 11, finished it grinding zombies. The second character I just grinded from 1-V14 only doing Class quests, Coldharbour and Cadwell Silver.

I just whent to riften in the rift and kept killing tigers got a ton of loot and xp on ps4 outside riften made it to vr 14 in 2 days started at vr 10 now i have nothing to do basically cant play dungeons cant communicate with others to find a group cause there is no text chat this game blows after you become vr 14 on console

most of my IRL friends dont do much on the PC, and i just like the feel of the game more when using a controller. I also built a guild and didnt mass recruit like so many others, so with all the negatives (add ons, text chat) i can have a decent work around for those. My pc is right next to my xbox so any locations or maps or guides i need i can do it while still running around in game. I picked only quality players to join my guild and we dont allow them in if they have no mic, or even a crappy one. It sucks to restrict it so much, but it does make it do able.

but overall, when it comes to games that were made for controller buttons, like ESO and their 6 button layout, I tend (almost always) find that I enjoy it more on the console. With that said, PvP is very addicting on the consoles.

Socializing is so much more fluid and natural in guild/group voice chat.
Not to mention the obvious combat advantage.
Why do you think that most PC groups require you to use Teamspeak?
I will admit I have little use for area voice chat except to recruit for the group.
I guess I was born before the era of thumb texters.

Fair enough. I like using a mouse/KB but on ESO it felt really odd for me. Which is why I use a controller on the PC game. Have everything I need .. best of both worlds.
